‘I’m proud of you champ’… Award-winning rapper defends Mike Tyson following criticism received for Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson has received a lot of criticism for his performance against Jake Paul this past Friday in his professional boxing comeback.

Despite being 58 years old, Mike Tyson made his professional boxing comeback this past Friday when he took on Jake Paul in what will go down as one of the biggest combat sports events of all time.

‘Iron Mike’ unfortunately suffered a unanimous decision loss but following the fight, the boxing icon emotionally revealed that he still pictured it as a win due to the adversity he had to overcome during his fight camp.

Tyson admitted that he almost died in June, and had to have eight blood transfusions, covering his comeback in even more controversy.

The Game defends Mike Tyson following criticism about his performance

Although it was seen as a win that Tyson didn’t suffer a brutal knockout loss, he has received criticism from not only a large portion of the boxing fanbase but also from fellow fighters.

Former multiple-weight boxing champion, Terence Crawford recently slammed Tyson, stating that the 58-year-old looked ‘trash’ inside the ring.

However, award-winning American rap icon, The Game has jumped to the defense of ‘Iron Mike’ stating that he is proud of the former heavyweight champion for his boxing comeback.

“I see all of these weird celebrities saying Mike looked bad, this was sad and disgusting, etc… y’all goofy. I saw a 58-year-old legend go 8 rounds with a 27-year-old in front of the world in a sold-out football stadium and walk away with 20 million dollars,” The Game began to explain in a tweet on X.

“His dignity and yet another achievement he said was only for HIM. I’m proud of you champ!” The Game continued.

What’s next for Mike Tyson following recent loss to Jake Paul?

Before his comeback fight against ‘The Problem Child’, Tyson hinted at a potential ‘full comeback’ to boxing and talked about potentially fighting the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Despite that, following the disappointment of his performance, it is unlikely that the 58-year-old will fight the queue of young fighters likely wanting to share the ring with him.

However, immediately after his loss whilst still in the ring, Tyson admitted that he is not willing to completely call it a day on his boxing career yet, and he may continue fighting in the realm of influencer boxing.

Fans are even more hopeful now than they were before the fight that Tyson will officially announce he is stepping away from the sport but time will tell how involved the 58-year-old wants to continue being.
