Jake Paul has resumed his role as the ‘disruptor’ of professional boxing following his unanimous decision victory over Mike Tyson last Friday.
The social media star labored through eight two-minute rounds at the AT&T Stadium, Texas, in streaming juggernaut Netflix’s first ever live boxing event.
However, his uninspiring performance has largely been criticized by fans, with many doubting that he has what it takes to become a world champion.
But reaching the upper echelon of his sport seemingly remains the ultimate goal for Jake Paul, who has since called out the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Gervonta Davis.

Jake Paul responds to Artur Beterbiev’s call out following Mike Tyson showdown
Paul has cited two reasons for why his outing against Mike Tyson went the distance, offering contrasting excuses for his flat performance.
Immediately after the fight, the 27-year-old claimed that he simply carried his opponent to the finish line, not wishing to see the 58-year-old boxing legend take any further punishment.
During the same post-fight press conference, though, Paul also revealed that he had sustained a foot injury just two weeks before the two heavyweights collided.
And so, it is difficult to say whether the one-dimensional display he produced in the ring was in fact down to a new-found degree of respect for Tyson or his hampered preparation.
Either way, the former Disney star’s 11th win in professional boxing was far removed from the statement that he was perhaps hoping for.
But still, Paul was able to capture the attention of undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev, who called him out shortly after the contest.
When responding to the bona fide knockout artist on X, Paul said: “Just seen this….top 5 pound for pound fighter in the world calling me out. Hahahahahaha. 4 years in and I run this sport.”
Fans react to fantasy matchup between Jake Paul and Artur Beterbiev
Beterbiev is the longest reigning world champion in boxing, with all but one of his 21 victories arriving inside the distance.
And so, it is somewhat unsurprising that Paul has refused to entertain the potential fight.
Nevertheless, boxing fans have, for the most part, taken aim at ‘The Problem Child’ for his response.
One fan joked: “Beterbiev is only 39, too young for Paul.”
Another fan added: “He said he was down to fight Tank [Gervonta Davis] but laughs at Beterbiev call out, [Paul doesn’t] wanna risk his life.”
Someone else said: “This is getting really stupid now! I realise money talks, however, Jake Paul is a joker, NOT a fighter/boxer!”
