Darren Till set for huge boxing return as he takes on former Jake Paul opponent on KSI card

Following his highly controversial exhibition boxing fight earlier this year, Darren Till has finally found himself included on a Misfits Boxing card after months of calls to be included.

The former UFC star made his exhibition boxing debut earlier this year when he took on fellow former MMA fighter, Mohammad Mutie.

The fight ended extremely unceremoniously after Mutie was rendered unable to continue due to an injury, however, once the bout was called, Darren Till and Mutie continued fighting.

Darren Till set to take on Tommy Fury on Misfits boxing card

After months of calling to take on the likes of Jake Paul and KSI in the influencer boxing space, the Liverpudlian has finally been given his opportunity as he will take on Tommy Fury, on Misfits&DAZN X Series 20 on January 18.

‘TNT’ Fury has previously shared the ring with the aforementioned Paul and was the first fighter to defeat ‘The Problem Child’ in professional boxing. Following his win over the 27-year-old, he went on to fight KSI, beating him by decision too.

Although Fury defeated ‘The Problem Child’, Paul went on to have a far more successful boxing career, having recently beaten Mike Tyson in one of the biggest combat sports events of all time.

Despite seemingly once having a high ceiling and hoping to follow in the footsteps of his brother, Tyson Fury, the 25-year-old realized the success and money that can be made fighting boxers far lower level than himself.

Following Till’s boxing fight in July, he said: “There are people I do really wanna fight, Tommy Fury… They’re all running, they are scared cowards, they don’t wanna fight me I promise you.”

The 25-year-old hasn’t fought since October last year as he has been going through a public break-up.

Despite that, Fury has revealed his excitement to finally return to the boxing ring, having recently been training with UFC interim champion, Tom Aspinall.

“It feels great, to finally, say that I am back! I have been out of the ring far too long, I’ve been getting itchy knuckles, and so I am thrilled to be able to announce my return,” Fury told Misfits Boxing.

With KSI co-owning Misfits Boxing and Till having called to fight him previously, the internet sensation released a quick but punchy statement following the announcement of Till’s Misfits Boxing debut.

“Glad to know that the p*ssy knows his place. Working for me,” KSI said on X.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger is still hopeful of one day returning to the premier MMA promotion, outlining his plan to make money in the influencer boxing world before returning to the UFC to become a champion.

In his final UFC outing, Till took on the current middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis, and in fact had his moments of success in that fight.

His Misfits Boxing debut will take place on January 18 from the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England.
