Themba Gorimbo set to replace Nick Diaz against Vicente Luque at UFC 310

Nick Diaz is undeniably one of the most popular fighters in UFC history, with an army of fans excited to see their hero make another walk to the cage.

Alas, they’ll have to wait a little longer, with the legend supposedly out of his comeback bout against Vicente Luque.

According to Alex Behunin of MMA Mania, the warrior has withdrawn from the contest, opening the door for another fighter to rise to the occasion.

The reporter says his sources have confirmed that Themba Gorimbo will be Luque’s new opponent.

The Zimbabwean has long-awaited a big opportunity, and will intend to grab this with both hands.

Since losing his UFC debut last year, the talented operator has gone on a tremendous run, winning four consecutive fights, most recently picking up a victory against Niko Price.

Fans concerned for Nick Diaz after worrying video emerges

Throughout his career, Diaz has never shied away from controversy.

Whether it be his brutal trash talk against Georges St-Pierre in the heat of battle, or literally lying down in the middle of the cage against Anderson Silva, the polarizing athlete has always garnered the attention of fans.

However, despite showing flashes of brilliance in his last outing against Robbie Lawler, he seemingly didn’t want to be there, succumbing to a third-round retirement.

Therefore, MMA enthusiasts were somewhat concerned when he announced his match-up with Luque. And those fears were only worsened when an extremely bizarre video of the sportsman leaked last week.
