Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson hit by Drake curse as rapper loses $355,000 betting on controversial fight

Drake’s alleged curse struck Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson on Friday night.

The rapper watched along from home as 58-year-old ‘Iron Mike’ suffered an unsurprising unanimous decision defeat in his comeback fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

An upset never seemed on the cards, especially after Drake got involved.

The Canadian is infamous for his bad bets and he placed another on the most controversial fight of 2024.

Drake loses six-figure Mike Tyson bet

Drake almost always pops up with a bet for big boxing and MMA fights.

However, fans thought he’d forgot about Paul vs Tyson when the card started and he hadn’t posted his slip to social media – but he eventually hopped on Instagram to reveal he was backing a shock upset.

“I’m late but I’m here money on the liiiiiiiiine for today and tmrw. I need some dubs,” Drake captioned a post showing off his bets on Tyson and UFC 309.

The ‘One Dance’ hitmaker placed $355,000 on Tyson scoring a big upset.

A knockout, DQ or decision would’ve made him over $1 million, but it never looked like happening as Paul breezed through the eight-round contest and cost Drake a fortune.

Perhaps he’ll have better luck at UFC 309 where the main event will see Jon Jones will defend his heavyweight title against former two-time champion Stipe Miocic on Saturday night.

Drake belives Jones to win by KO for the first time since December 2018.

The consensus greatest MMA fighter of all time has been backed to the tune of $450,000 by Drake, who stands to cash out $954,000 if his prediction is proven correct.

What’s next for Mike Tyson?

Unsurprisingly, Tyson looked a shell of his former self against Paul.

As he approaches 60 years of age, it’s clear that the boxing legend should be nowhere near a boxing ring, but he doubts this will be the last time he laces up the gloves.

In the immediate aftermath of his first professional bout in almost 20 years, Tyson expressed his desire to fight again before calling out Logan Paul to his face.

“I don’t know, maybe his brother,” he said when asked who’s next after Jake Paul.

Logan replied: ‘Motherf*****, I’d kill you, Mike.”

Tyson added with a chuckle: “It’s on then!”

It remains to be seen if that fight will come to fruition after Tyson has taken some time to recover with his family and count the $20 million he reportedly made for his latest fight.

Only time will tell if the boxing icon will retire or compete again, but it’s clear that fans want him to call it a career once and for all.
