Randy Couture reveals the hilarious thing the Impractical Jokers producers told him to do while ‘humiliating’ Sal Vulcano

Randy Couture has given a behind-the-scenes insight into what the producers said in his ear during his amusing punishment with Sal Vulcano on Impractical Jokers

In his esteemed career, the two-weight UFC world champion has grappled some of the best fighters in the world, so fending off a New York comic was hardly the biggest of challenges.

Randy Couture pulls back the curtain on Impractical Jokers

Impractical Jokers is a show centered around a group of friends, that have to do awkward things in public to avoid a horrifying punishment at the end of the episode.

On this occasion, Sal Vulcano drew the short straw and had to teach a martial arts class with little to no idea about what he was doing.

However, things got a whole lot worse when the secret twist was revealed. Not only would the star of the show have to perform for the students, but he’d also have to attempt to pants Randy Couture, who’d turned up as the special guest.

Of course, this was near enough impossible, with the UFC legend completely ragdolling Vulcano, en route to mortifying the comedian, with a moment that looked improvised, but in reality, was a stroke of genius from the producers.

This will surprise you: Randy Couture has wild pick for the greatest MMA fighter of this era…

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, Couture said: “It was really fun. Obviously, Sal lost in that episode. So, now he’s got to do embarrassing things. They put him in a class of Krav Maga students, and he has to teach the Krav Maga class. He doesn’t know how to spell Krav Maga, let alone teach it.

“They’ve got earbuds in our ears, so they’re egging you on, saying, ‘You’ve gotta say this, you’ve gotta do this’. He’s in the middle of trying to BS his way through a Krav Maga class. He keeps saying, ‘You’ve got to Maga’, what does that even mean’?

“They ask me to walk in as the surprise guest. They start chirping and telling Sal, ‘You’ve got to pants Randy, you’ve got to take his sweatpants off’. So, Sal has to come after me and try and take my pants off.

“It was me basically humiliating and outwrestling him. They said, ‘Just take your pants off and throw them at him’. So, I take my own pants off and throw my pants at Sal. It was really enjoyable and funny.”

Randy Couture gives an insight into his venture with Affliction

In addition to dominating his opponents in the cage, acting in blockbuster films, and pantsing comedians, Couture is a fashion expert.

The American is an ambassador for Affliction, who distribute his brand – Xtreme Couture clothing.

The icon spoke to us all about his journey with the company, claiming: “Todd Beard, one of the old founders and original owners, came to Vegas to give me my royalty checks from the walk-out shirts for the Tim Sylvia fight.

“He was standing in front of my gym, looking at Xtreme Couture on the building, saying, ‘Wow, I love the name of your gym; we should do a line of clothes’.

“I already had registered trademarks in Xtreme Couture in clothing and a couple of other categories, so I assigned my trademark to that partnership, and we’re off and running making some Xtreme Couture clothes, pretty crazy.

“Walking down studio walk, my fight against Pedro Rizzo in Las Vegas, at three in the afternoon, walking to the arena, and I walk past a store called, ‘Juicy Couture’ full of tracksuits. And a lightbulb went off in my brain, ‘Wow, look at that, there’s my name on a clothing store’.

“That was the moment that I started connecting the dots and realized, as a fighter, I was building a brand, and I should probably try to take care of that, and went out and got some trademarks and some different categories.

“The gym was just coming online at that time in Vegas, and the Xtreme Couture name. So, it was an interesting progression for me as an athlete to have that lightbulb go off and realize I was maybe missing the boat and I needed to foster this brand and this platform I’m building through fighting.”
