Joe Rogan tells crazy story of when he had to stop a bodyguard from making a ‘huge mistake’ with a UFC champion

UFC icon Joe Rogan has always been extremely complimentary of UFC welterweight fighter, Leon Edwards, and he has told a story of a night out he shared with the Brit that could’ve ended in disaster.

Before Leon Edwards became the UFC welterweight champion, commentator Joe Rogan always backed the Brit as one of the best fighters in the world and was always complimentary of the 170lber.

‘Rocky’ then went on to become just the second British fighter to win a title under the UFC banner when he knocked out Kamaru Usman in tremendous fashion back in 2022.

Joe Rogan tells crazy story from a night out with Leon Edwards

Continuing to show Edwards support after he became champion of the world, Rogan had ‘Rocky’ on his huge podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

After flying the British champion at the time down to his podcast studio in Texas, he and Edwards then went on to enjoy a night out together with the likes of comedian, Dave Chappelle and others.

“I brought Leon to a show with me, Leon did my podcast and then I brought Leon and we went and did a show with Chappelle, me and him were hanging out and then afterward we all went out to this club,” Rogan began to explain on his podcast.

“It was like an after-hours party that Dave had set up… It was at the end of the night and this guy decided that he was gonna kick everybody out, and for some reason, he singled out Leon Edwards and he got in his face.

“He said like, ‘Hey man, I told you it’s time to leave’, and then I got in between them and said, ‘I know you’ve probably made some f*cked up mistakes in your life, you’re probably about to make the biggest one, I pulled him aside’.

“He went white like a ghost, I said ‘That’s one of the baddest motherf*ckers on the planet, you’re about to make one of the biggest mistakes of your life’,” Rogan continued.

Leon Edwards should be blowing Dana White’s phone up according to UFC legend

Unfortunately for Edwards, he went on to lose his welterweight title against Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 earlier this year after an extremely disappointing performance.

Muhammad was then scheduled to defend his title against Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 coming up in December. Despite that, ‘Remember The Name’ withdrew after suffering a broken toe.

With that, the promotion is looking to keep the undefeated Rakhmonov on the card with rumors circulating that Kamaru Usman will be the man called upon.

Despite that, UFC legend Michael Bisping has claimed that Edwards should be blowing Dana White’s phone up demanding to be put into the interim title fight.

“He should be calling Dana White up and driving him crazy right now,” Bisping told the Sun Sport.
