Joe Rogan is in the firing line after making a case for Alex Pereira being one of the greatest fighters of all time.
‘Poatan’ has become a fan favorite during his 10-fight UFC career, which has seen him win world titles at middleweight and light heavyweight, where he recently defended his belt by knocking out Khalil Rountree Jr.
The Brazilian has recorded a series of impressive stoppage wins that have convinced many people he’s the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.
Joe Rogan has taken things to the next level by putting him in the GOAT debate.

Joe Rogan forgets his MMA history while praising ‘Poatan’
Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, and Demetrious Johnson are the fighters most often referenced when fans discuss the greatest fighters in MMA history.
Rogan believes Pereira has to be a part of the conversation after becoming a two-weight world champion and achieving the feat faster than all his peers.
The UFC commentator discussed Pereira’s GOAT credentials during a recent episode of his popular podcast, but he got confused about the other two-weight champions
Rogan began naming fighters who had held two titles at once, but there have been eight UFC stars in total who have won belts in different divisions.
“This is where it gets crazy,” he began. “If you just look on record of accomplishments against champions, you kind of have to put Alex Pereira already in the conversation of potential greatest of all time, which is so crazy.
“He’s one of only three two-division champions, right? How many two-division… You have Conor [McGregor], you have DC [Daniel Cormier, that’s it.
“Amanda Nunes, that doesn’t really count. It does count, but 145lb is kind of a non-existent weight class. She was fighting girls who could’ve been 135lbs. It’s real but 145lbs for women in the most shallow division in MMA. So, yeah, you would say Amanda too.
“So, it’s a small percentage of people who have achieved that, and he achieved that in record time. He’s knocked out so many champions! He’s a f***ing monster, dude, he’s a force. What he did to Khalil Rountree was a clinic, he’s amazing. To do that to Khalil, that was a clinic in elite, world-class MMA.
“I don’t think he’s better than Jon Jones, but I already put him in the conversation for a potential greatest of all time nominee.”

Fans let Joe Rogan know in the comment section
Rogan’s shocking lack of MMA history knowledge was pointed out in the YouTube comment section by fans reminding him about the accomplishments of Randy Couture, BJ Penn, Georges St-Pierre, and Henry Cejudo.
One person wrote: “Three 2 div champions only?? Damn Rogan is a casual.”
Another said: “Joe casually leaving out Couture, BJ Penn, GSP, Cejudo and Jon Jones.”
A third person added: “Bro forgot every 2 division champ.”
Someone else fumed: “He’s nowhere near the top 5 of greatest of all time stop it.”
Pereira could be named the Fight of the Year when 2024 is over.
Still, he’s got a way to go before most fans consider him as the GOAT.
