Michael Bisping has shared his thoughts on the ongoing UFC pound-for-pound debate.
Throughout 2024, Dana White has been telling anyone who will listen that Jon Jones is not only the greatest fighter of all time, but he’s also the best right now.
The UFC heavyweight champion has fought just once in the past four years and is ranked third on the official P4P list behind Islam Makhachev and Alex Pereira.
White is so annoyed by Jones’s low ranking that he’s discussing replacing the rankings panel with AI as soon as possible.

Michael Bisping names his pound-for-pound number one
Michael Bisping stands with his boss on the pound-for-pound debate.
The former UFC middleweight champion, who has become one of White’s go-to commentators since retiring in 2018, recently made the case for Jones during an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.
“Call me a company man all you want, but I do think Jon Jones is the greatest of all time,” TNT Sports pundit Michael Bisping said. ”I think you just look at his résumé alone.
“Injuries happen, he stepped away from the sport, he went up to heavyweight, he rebuilt his body. You know, he did it the correct way and now he looks like a heavyweight, the man is gigantic.
“Of course, there’s other contenders and of course, this is a subjective debate. Ilia Topuria, for example, he might go down as the greatest of all time. Islam Makhachev, incredible.”
Michael Bisping has been championing Jon Jones for a while
Bisping’s backing of Jones won’t be a shock to hardcore MMA fans.
Although White is the American’s most vocal supporter, ‘The Count’ has also been talking up Jones as the P4P best since debate around the subject started earlier this year.
Bisping added: “This is hilarious because I remember about six months ago, we had a heated debate on TNT Sports with me, Adam Catterall and Nick Peet. I was saying Jon Jones, they were saying Islam Makhachev.
“But now because Islam got injured, now everyone is talking about Ilia Topuria and Alex Pereira. You get injured in this sport. Look at what I’ve just gone through with all these surgeries. Top to bottom. I’m like The Terminator. I’m walking like one of them Tesla Optimus robots at the moment.
“It’s just a sad fact of reality. He got injured. He tore the pec of his bone and he’s back.
“You know, if he gets beat then I guess that changes. If Islam Makhachev wins two or three more maybe that changes. If Topuria continues maybe it changes.
“When you look at the record 27-1 – it should be 28-0 – beating legend after legend after legend and turning back generations of contenders.
“By the way, Dana White does give a s*** if I agree with here or not. This is my personal opinion!”
