Following his title defense against Khalil Rountree Jr this past October, Alex Pereira has gone back home to Brazil to visit his tribe, the Pataxo tribe.
Alex Pereira continued his incredible run this past October at UFC 307, finishing Khalil Rountree Jr in the fourth round of their all-out war.
With the win, ‘Poatan’ cemented himself as the promotion’s biggest current star and his next title defense is likely set to come against Magomed Ankalaev.

Alex Pereira visits his Pataxo tribe in Brazil and fires bow and arrow
Throughout his UFC journey, Pereira has always paid homage to his tribe back in Brazil, the Pataxo tribe. ‘Poatan’s’ tribal ceremonial weigh-in look has become iconic, making him a favorite among the fans.
Following his win over Rountree Jr, the 37-year-old has returned to Brazil, taking some time off training and fighting, and visiting his tribe.
During his time with the tribe, Pereira has been showing off his skills with the bow and arrow and taking in the culture once again.
Before his UFC 303 fight against Jiri Prochazka, Prochazka accused the Brazilian of using voodoo to help him win fights, and this is something that was further backed up by Israel Adesanya who also admitted he felt it when he fought Pereira.
Although ‘Poatan’ is constantly being accused of using ‘voodoo’ to help him win fights, it is his lethal left hand that is leaving his opponents on the floor. However, the champion has admitted that his hands are still in pain from his UFC 307 fight.

Magomed Ankalaev continues to claim Pereira is running from fight
With UFC 310 just around the corner, the event has been left without a headline fight as Belal Muhammad recently withdrew from his scheduled fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Following the news, Pereira cryptically posted online an emoji of a telephone, hinting that he would once again save the day and headline the event on short notice.
Pairing that with the fact he recently went back to visit his tribe in Brazil, UFC fans are expecting that ‘Poatan’ will announce another fight soon.
Number one contender, Ankalaev, isn’t too confident that will happen, though, as he has continued to accuse the champion of running away from a potential fight.
“I promise all my friends I’m going to punish this guy I will knock him out. Focus on MMA voodoo isn’t gonna help you, my son,” Ankalaev commented on the video of Pereira with his tribe.
“I was offered three dates December, February, and March and I agreed to all three dates, I have to win by KO I have no problem. It is condition.
“Willing to fight everyone on short notice but with me, he knows he has to be ready he’s not stupid,” Ankalaev continued.
