Randy Couture has given an extremely interesting pick for who he believes is the greatest mixed martial artist of the current era.
The two-weight UFC world champion made a great case for why this particular fighter deserves to be in the conversation.

Randy Couture says Michael Chandler is the greatest fighter of our era
Blessed with remarkable wrestling skills and an unrelenting will to win, Randy Couture is undeniably one of the best to ever do it.
The US Army veteran was renowned for dragging opponents through the fire, en route to stopping them under his enormous wave of pressure.
Since retiring from the sport with multiple belts on his mantelpiece, the American legend has spent his time starring in hit films and making waves in the fashion industry with Affliction.
But he’s never stopped loving MMA, paying close attention to the fighters of today.

As a formidable grappler in his own right, Couture loves watching Michael Chandler, believing the former Bellator champion has earned the accolade of ‘The greatest fighter of this era’.
In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, Couture said: “Michael Chandler keeps coming up in my mind. He’s been in several different organizations, and he’s been a top competitor and in title contention for quite a while now.
“Obviously, there was some hope that him and Conor were gonna scrap. I don’t know if that fight is ever gonna happen, but Chandler is certainly a fighter I enjoy watching. I love his gas tank and the energy he brings to the cage every single time he fights.”
Randy Couture names Brendan Loughnane as one of the greatest of this era
Chandler isn’t the only intriguing name that Couture threw into the mix, with the icon making a case for a former PFL champion who’s proven his skills beyond doubt.
He explained: “I’ve been very impressed with Brendan Loughnane in the PFL with everything he’s accomplished, and the humility he brings to the cage and the work ethic and all the things I think this sport stands for.
“I think he represents all those things very well.”
