Daniel Cormier’s longstanding rivalry with Jon Jones still plagues the UFC commentator to this day and at the UFC Edmonton Q&A this past Friday, he hit back at a fan who made a disrespectful comment about the feud.
Throughout the UFC’s illustrious history, Jon Jones‘ rivalry with Daniel Cormier will go down as one of the most toxic with the two still not seeing eye to eye to this day.
Now that Cormier is in the commentary booth as one of the UFC’s main commentators, he has become more respectful towards ‘Bones’ Jones as a fighter but still doesn’t mince his words when talking about his hatred for the current heavyweight champion.

Daniel Cormier hits back at fan who called him Jon Jones’ son at Q&A event
With the promotion returning to Edmonton, Canada this Saturday for another Fight Night event, ‘DC’ will be in the commentary booth with Brendan Fitzgerald and Paul Felder.
Ahead of the ceremonial weigh-ins this past Friday, the UFC held a Q&A for the fans with Cormier, Felder, and Fitzgerald on stage ready to answer any questions from the fans.
However, when the microphones have been opened up for fan questions in the past, unfortunately, some fans take the chance to be disrespectful to the fighters, as was the case with a question asked to Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett back at UFC 286 in London.
Cormier found himself on the end of a disrespectful question from a fan at the Edmonton Q&A, and the former double champion decided to hit back.
“DC, with Jon Jones fighting at MSG, it might be the last time we see him in the Octagon, in your opinion, what’s the greatest moment of his career, and on a lighter note, how does it feel to be the son of Jon Jones?” a UFC fan asked.
“Eh, one of the greatest moments, he’s beaten a lot of guys, the amount of champions that Jon Jones has beaten over the course of his career is very impressive, the guy has been a champion for a long time, he’s done a great job and it will suck whenever he’s gone because the game is better when you have fighters like that in it.
“Unfortunately there has been a lot of time when he hasn’t been in it because of the things he has done, and on a lighter note, f*ck you!” Cormier responded.
Cormier believes Stipe Miocic is being underestimated ahead of Jones fight at UFC 309
Although Jones hasn’t officially announced that he will be retiring following his UFC 309 title defense against Stipe Miocic, he has heavily hinted at doing so, as has Miocic.
Despite the fight having received criticism from the majority of the fanbase because of Miocic’s inactivity and having been knocked out in his last fight, Cormier believes the greatest heavyweight of all time is being underestimated.
“I actually spoke to Stipe last week a little bit, he’s in great spirits, big strong, and heavy as he’s been in a long time and I think that Jon Jones seems as motivated as he’s been in a while.
“I think that it’s the type of fight that we all as fans of the sport love to see and I truly believe that this is much more competitive than people think it is. It’s deserving of headlining Madison Square Garden,” Cormier claimed.
