UFC KO artist ready to move up in weight for Shara Bullet showdown despite Israel Adesanya rumors

Shara ‘Bullet’ Magomedov has captured the attention of MMA fans following his outrageous second-round knockout victory over Armen Petrosyan at UFC 308.

The 30-year-old’s stunning performance last Saturday has, in turn, cemented his status as one of the most lethal strikers at middleweight, where champion Dricus Du Plessis reigns supreme.

In the end, it was an awe-inspiring double spinning back fist that switched Armen Petrosyan’s lights out in Abu Dhabi.

But then, following his career-best victory, Magomedov called out UFC legend Israel Adesanya, hoping to climb up the rankings after entering the top 15 of his division at 14th place.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page insists he would move up to face Shara Bullet at middleweight

After losing in back-to-back fights against Du Plessis and Sean Strickland, Israel Adesanya will undoubtedly be looking to remind fans of his sensational skills in a bid to reclaim his glory.

Unbeaten contender Shara Magomedov, then, may be forced to consider alternative opponents, one of whom being a left field option in Michael ‘Venom’ Page.

The welterweight contender comes off a unanimous decision defeat to Ian Machado Garry in June, which followed his sensational victory over Kevin Holland earlier this year.

But before joining the UFC, Page enjoyed a dazzling spell with rival MMA promotion Bellator, losing to just Douglas Lima and Logan Storley across his 19 outings.

And now, despite coming off his third MMA defeat, the elusive puncher looks to land a highly intriguing matchup with ‘Bullet.’

“You don’t even have to wait too long,” Page told MMA Fighting. “That one there, I’ll just take straight away just for the fun of it.”

“I’m in shape now, ready to go. So that’s a good fight for me, I think. Just a nice stand up fight for everybody, just to come back to the game.

“And like I said, leave my boy Izzy alone. He’s trying to get back to the belt, to the throne, so I’ll take his place.”

Fans react to potential clash between Shara Bullet and Michael ‘Venom’ Page

Despite campaigning at 165 lbs, Page – standing at 6ft 3 inches – certainly has the frame to move up in weight, making his potential bout against Magomedov a more realistic proposition.

Better yet, their styles are likely to make for an all-action shootout, with ‘Venom’ having had two professional boxing bouts and ‘Bullet’ showing signs of becoming the sport’s next formidable striker.

And so, with such an intriguing battle to clamor for, MMA fans have largely responded to Page’s call out with excitement.

One fan said: “This would make for a great fight!”

Another fan added: “A very interesting matchup indeed!”

Someone else said: “Sign me up.”
