‘We have unfinished business’… Paddy Pimblett called out by long-time rival who wants him to face ‘reality’

With Paddy Pimblett claiming he’d love to fight Ilia Topuria, an old rival has said that the Liverpudlian should just face ‘reality’ and go head-to-head with him instead.

The potential match-up would undeniably capture the attention of hardcore MMA fans.

Guram Kutateladze wants to fight Paddy Pimblett

At UFC 308, Paddy Pimblett watched Ilia Topuria render Max Holloway unconscious with a devastating left hook in a statement performance.

But rather than serving as a deterrent, the brutality of the finish only whetted the Scouser’s appetite to set foot in the cage with the Spanish-Georgian himself.

However, with ‘El Matador’ cruising in the weight division below, the likelihood of a fight with Pimblett coming to fruition anytime soon is unlikely.

Therefore, the Brit needs a different opponent. And Guram Kutateladze is more than happy to step up to the plate.

Earlier today, the talented fighter took to Twitter to ask Pimblett to throw down in the octagon with him.

Kutateladze said: “Paddy Pimblett, I saw that you are waiting for Ilia Topuria to come up to lightweight and fight him. That sounds unreal.

“Let’s talk about reality. We have unfinished business; I’m in lightweight division, I’m eager to fight you. You don’t need any more reasons, and you don’t have to wait. The UFC, put this guy in the cage with me.”

Fans mock Paddy Pimblett for saying he can beat Ilia Topuria

Kutateladze isn’t the only one who didn’t take Pimblett’s talk about beating Topuria overly seriously.

While the grappler has now cemented his place in the UFC lightweight rankings, the MMA community isn’t overly convinced he has what it takes to beat someone of ‘El Matador’s’ caliber.

Following his comments, a plethora of fans took to social media to voice their opinions on the Englishman’s claims.
