Blessed with thunderous power and tremendous wrestling skills, Stipe Miocic has cemented his place in the UFC history books.

With victories over Francis Ngannou, Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum, the popular fighter is one of, if not the greatest heavyweight to have ever graced the sport.

However, having not recorded a victory in several years, many are fearful that a match-up with Jon Jones, might be a bridge too far for the 42-year-old.

But, with fighting spirit in abundance, Miocic is convinced he still has what it takes to reclaim his throne.

And it looks like he’s not the only one.

Over the years, the UFC heavyweight division has created a plethora of icons, but perhaps none have quite the same shine as the first man to ever wear the belt ― Mark Coleman.

The combat sports phenom recently commented on one of Miocic’s Instagram posts, offering some motivational words.

Coleman wrote: “You can do it, Champ! Finish him and be the King.”

Chael Sonnen hits back at fans, saying Jon Jones is ducking Tom Aspinall by fighting Stipe Miocic

While fans adore Miocic, his lack of activity isn’t the only reason the MMA community isn’t overly keen on him going head-to-head with Jones.

The major factor is the fact that Tom Aspinall has arrived on the scene and made an enormous impact.

With lightning hands and formidable Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills, the powerhouse has destroyed an array of opponents en route to picking up the UFC interim title.

With this considered, a portion of hardcore fans are convinced that Jones is using Miocic to avoid the Englishman. However, Chael Sonnen isn’t convinced.

‘The American Gangster’ recently gave his stance on the matter, explaining why ‘Bones’ is not ‘shying away’ from Aspinall.
