Joe Rogan has just waxed lyrical about Khamzat Chimaev, after watching ‘Borz’ dominate Robert Whittaker at UFC 308.
In a statement performance, the Swede secured a first-round submission in front of his adoring fans at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Joe Rogan thinks Khamzat Chimaev could be the best middleweight in the UFC
On a crazy night at UFC 308, Khamzat Chimaev produced the greatest performance of his career.
In a fight, in which he simply had to deliver, the gifted grappler went above and beyond to prove that the hype surrounding him is very much warranted.
In the opposite corner stood Robert Whittaker, a former champion, renowned for his excellent takedown defense.
Over the course of ten rounds with Yoel Romero, he successfully avoided the Olympian’s wrestling skills, to claim two victories.

However, it appears Chimaev is on another level. The 30-year-old ragdolled ‘Bobby Knuckles’ en route to locking in a terrifying submission, which seemed to instantly break his rival’s jaw.
The partisan crowd went into raptures, cheering wildly for their hero. And they weren’t the only ones impressed by what they’d seen.
During the JRE Fight Companion, MMA aficionado Joe Rogan, instantly said: “You give him the title shot”, before adding: “Once he gets ahold of you, it’s so dangerous.”
The popular commentator was so blown away by the performance that he suggested Chimaev may be the best middleweight in the world.
Rogan exclaimed: “He didn’t get touched; he ran through him, and he strangled him in the first round. He might be that guy, dude.”
“Think about this: so, this guy was killing himself to make 170 pounds, at 185 pounds, he’s the f***ing man. It’s kind of crazy.”
Ilia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski face-off in the cage
Chimaev wasn’t the only fighter to produce a sparkling performance, as Ilia Topuria rendered Max Holloway unconscious in frightening fashion.
In a testament to his ability to adapt and overcome, the Spanish-Georgian began to read his rival’s shots, before landing a devastating right hand followed by a left hook to leave ‘Blessed’ flat on the canvas.
The victory marked Topuria’s second big win this year, with the man who suffered the first desperate for redemption.
Following the fight, Alexander Volkanovski set foot in the cage with the featherweight champion, and the pair agreed to a rematch.
