Conor McGregor raves about UFC veteran after ‘NOSE BREAKER SHOT’ KO makes him BKFC champion

Conor McGregor is extremely excited about the new BKFC cruiserweight champion.

The former dual-weight UFC champion acquired a stake in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship earlier this year, and ever since he’s been heavily promoting the fledgling fight league on social media.

As most MMA fans were talking about UFC 308, the Irishman was showing them slow-motion footage of Chris Camozzi’s brutal knockout win from BKFC 67 on Friday night.

‘Notorious’ was certainly impressed by what he saw from the UFC veteran.

Conor McGregor sends congratulatory message to new BKFC champion

Camozzi will be familiar to long-time MMA fans due to his stint on The Ultimate Fighter 11 and the 16 fights that followed in the UFC.

The 37-year-old shared the Octagon with Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, Thales Leites, and Dustin Jacoby during a 7-9 run in MMA’s premier promotion, which came to an end when his contract expired in 2017.

In 2024, he’s competing in bare-knuckle boxing, and clearly doing well since taking off the gloves.

Sawyer Depee was the man who stood in the way of Camozzi realizing his world-title dream at BKFC 67.

Depee was flattened inside one round as he ate a massive punch that appeared to break his nose.

Incredible slow-motion footage shows Camozzi knocking his opponent’s nose to the other side of his face to claim the cruiserweight crown and impress his boss.

Conor McGregor tweeted alongside the KO clip: “NOSE BREAKER SHOT TO WIN THE BARE KNUCKLE CRUISERWEIGHT GOLD! WOW! Say hello to your new Cruiserweight King, Chris Camozzi!

“Hey Chris, what can they say now? Sweet f*** all, baby! Big congrats! BARE KNUCKLE WORLD CHAMPION!!”

Conor McGregor wants to fight bare-knuckle after he leaves UFC

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

A comeback bout is on the cards for 2025, but he’s currently on the hunt for a new opponent after Michael Chandler chose to take a fight with Charles Oliveira at UFC 309, rather than wait out and face MMA’s biggest star.

McGregor only has two fights left on his current UFC deal. And while everyone hopes he will stay until the end of his career, the 36-year-old has suggested he will change sports after completing his latest MMA contract.

“This is the real deal, no one in this combat sports space can speak one word of bad mouth about Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, and that for me, is money in the bank,” he said at the press conference in July.

“This is the real deal, no one in this combat sports space can speak one word of bad mouth about Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, and that for me, is money in the bank,” McGregor started at the press conference.

“I’m not up here just as an owner, you know, player/manager.”
