‘High school bully’… Dricus du Plessis cracks up UFC fans by using cake to troll Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland

Dricus du Plessis has UFC fans howling with his latest troll attempt.

The UFC middleweight champion has become known for his brutal trash talk as much as his world-class fighting skills since signing for MMA’s premier promotion in 2020.

Former 185lb titleholders Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland were so upset by his words that they broke down in tears before fighting the South African superstar.

Du Plessis beat both men and now he’s rubbed salt into their wounds by sharing a picture of him holding a cake mocking their emotional outbursts.

Dricus du Plessis has fans in hysterics with his latest Instagram post

On Saturday, du Plessis reshared a post from ‘Pepper Club Hotel’ which seemed to have welcomed the UFC star to their five-star facility with a tasty treat.

The post included a picture of du Plessis, who was holding a cake, alongside the caption: “Dricus du Plessis feeling all the love at Pepper Club Hotel.”

It had a massive picture of the UFC champion on it – but eagle-eyed fans spotted that it had two smaller images of Adesanya and Strickland too.

Both men are crying from the comments du Plessis made to them.

It didn’t take long for the post to spread around social media like wildfire.

Fans hysterically reacted to du Plessis continuing to poke fun at his rivals.

One person tweeted: “He’s actually a high school bully at this point.”

Another said: “Dricus really knows how to celebrate a victory! Those cake toppers are hilarious.”

A third fan added: “Ok maybe I’m starting to like this guy a little bit.”

Someone else commented: “Amazing troll.”

Sean Strickland will get his chance at revenge in 2025

Since falling to a razor-thin split decision loss to du Plessis in January, Strickland has beaten Paulo Costa and been told he’ll get the next title shot by Dana White.

Earlier this week, it was announced that UFC 312 is official for Qudos Bank Arena on February 9 in Sydney, Australia, and it seems almost certain that du Plessis will headline the card.

Strickland doesn’t really want to travel down under for their rematch.

He tweeted before UFC 312 was announced: “UFC event planning; ‘I have a great idea, let’s send Sean to go fight for a championship in foreign country where the government absolutely hates him’.

“UFC are you f***ing with me or are you trying to tell me you want me to spread freedom?! I wonder at times….”

Even if it’s not his favorite spot, Strickland won’t be turning down a second shot at du Plessis – but if he does there’s two other top contenders ready to fill his spot.

Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev are set to square off at UFC 308 next weekend, and many people believe the winner of that fight will have done enough to earn a title shot.

Strickland will make them wait, and if he wins, they may have a long layoff as the American and du Plessis complete their trilogy of fights in the summer of 2025.
