‘Everyone is literally scared’… Dillon Danis claims Nate Diaz and four other ex-UFC stars have refused offers to fight him in MMA

Dillon Danis has accused several major stars of ducking an MMA fight with him.

The 2-0 prospect, who hasn’t competed in the sport since June 2019, is trying to find a big-name opponent for his long-awaited return to the cage.

However, he’s having trouble getting people to fight him in MMA.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has accused several former UFC stars of trying to change the rules to disadvantage him.

Dillon Danis publicly accuses five former UFC stars of ducking him

On Wednesday, Dillon Danis took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to name the five superstar fighters who have refused to face him under MMA rules.

The 31-year-old claims that during negotiations with prominent figures, including Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, there have been attempts to change the rules to put him at a disadvantage.

“So far, Nate Diaz, Darren Till, Jorge Masvidal, Mike Perry, and Anthony Pettis have all declined MMA fights with me, opting instead for boxing matches or rule sets that put me at a disadvantage,” Danis tweeted.

“I’m sick of this; I just want to fight and am actively pursuing the best opponents outside the UFC to show the world what I’m capable of.

“Everyone is literally scared to fight me in MMA — any promoter or promotion can confirm it.”

All of the fighters mentioned made their name in MMA but are currently pursuing secondary careers in boxing, so it makes sense that they tried to fight Danis in the ring.

It’s currently unclear when Conor McGregor‘s training partner make his comeback.

Why has Dillon Danis been out of action for so long?

Danis won back-to-back Bellator fights after turning pro in MMA – but since then he’s been blighted by injury issues that have brought what seemed to be a promising career to a screeching halt.

‘El Jefe’ suffered a serious knee injury that required surgery. Unfortunately, the first operation failed so he had to get another, and it set his recovery back.

Once he was fully fit, Danis decided to pursue a boxing bout with YouTuber-turned-WWE-star Logan Paul, and the two bitter rivals faced off in the ring last October.

Danis was disqualified in the sixth and final round for trying to use his submission skills on Paul, who was sailing to a points victory in the disappointing dustup.

In the same month, Bellator released Danis from his contract, making him free to fight for any MMA or boxing promotion that would take him.

A year later, it seems he’s struggling to find anyone in MMA willing to work with him.

Only time will tell when Danis will return to MMA. Right now, it appears that he may have to accept a lesser-name opponent to get his career back on track.
