‘I like the fight’… Dana White reacts after Conor McGregor names new comeback opponent and date for 2025

This past weekend at BKFC Spain, Conor McGregor revealed that he has a new comeback date and opponent in mind.

After three years out of action, Conor McGregor has admitted that he feels sad about his injury journey and what it has led to, with fans feeling less sympathetic for the Irishman.

During his time away from the UFC, ‘The Notorious’ has taken a hands-on approach with BKFC, where earlier this year he became a part owner of the promotion.

Dana White reacts to Conor McGregor’s comeback date and opponent revelation

This past Saturday at BKFC Spain, McGregor oversaw his first BKFC event as the main promoter and the event turned out to be a huge success.

Taking part in the event were two MMA media members, Oscar Willis and Ben Davis, who put on a tremendous show of heart during their prelim fight.

Cornering Willis was UFC lightweight contender, Dan Hooker, who prior to the event admitted that he was hopeful of having a conversation with McGregor regarding a possible UFC fight between them.

They did just that as the two conversed in the ring where they spoke about a potential fight and date.

Following the event, McGregor told Bloody Elbow that he will be fighting Hooker in February next year in Saudi Arabia, which has fans excited about the possibility.

Despite that, the fight has of course not been officially booked by the UFC, but CEO Dana White has caught wind of the proposition and reacted to the potential of that incredible fight.

“Yeah, obviously, you know that would be a great fight, I like that fight, I did not announce the fight (I’ve not talked to either of them about it),” White admitted this past Tuesday at the Dana White’s Contender Series post-fight press conference.

Although McGregor is hopeful of a comeback in February, Hooker recently stated that he wouldn’t be able to fight then as he and his wife are expecting a baby in February, suggesting either January or March as possible dates.

Dana White admits he watched BKFC Spain live

When White was told last week that two MMA media members would be squaring off in the BKFC ring, he admitted he was interested in watching the fight live.

The UFC boss then moved around his Saturday morning schedule to fit in watching the fight.

“Yes, I did see it. So after I talked to you guys that day, I actually moved my schedule around that morning so I could watch it and then they moved the fight so it screwed my whole thing up.

“I won’t tell you how I watched it but I watched it,” White admitted.

McGregor became aware of White’s support for the event and stated that he would like the UFC boss to attend one of the events in the future.

“Dana did not stream BKFC! He watched it in great enjoyment and amusement alongside Kevin Iole who had our card on! Fighting connoisseurs enjoying some Bare Knuckle Fighting action! F*cking AWESOME!” McGregor posted on X.
