Julianna Pena throws out another baseless steroid accusation as she reveals a phone call she had with the UFC regarding Amanda Nunes’ comeback

After reclaiming the UFC women’s bantamweight title at UFC 307, Julianna Pena audaciously called for a trilogy fight against the retired Amanda Nunes which frustrated the UFC fanbase.

Following Amanda Nunes‘ MMA retirement last year, Julianna Pena grew frustrated that she would not be able to settle her rivalry with the female GOAT.

Despite that, after beating Raquel Pennington at UFC 307, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ believes there is still a chance Nunes will come out of retirement to settle their trilogy.

Julianna Pena accuses Amanda Nunes of steroid use following video to Dana White

Pena could well be correct as following her win in Salt Lake City, the Brazilian posted a video on social media of her dancing and asking UFC CEO Dana White to call her as she misses him.

In the video ‘The Lioness’ looks to have just finished up a training session and is seemingly in great shape despite her retirement. However, again, Pena has thrown out another baseless steroid accusation.

The champion has continuously accused Kayla Harrison of steroid usage ever since her signing with the UFC which has resulted in quite a bitter feud between the two.

“You know why she wanted to retire, it’s so she could get on those roids and not get caught, look at how big she is,” Pena reacted to Nunes’ video in an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show.

The 35-year-old’s wish of a third fight with Nunes may eventually come to fruition as she has revealed a phone call she had with the UFC following the Brazilian’s post on social media.

“She made a video shaking her ass telling Dana I miss you and I want to come back and they give me a call and they say, ‘She wants to face the winner of you vs Kayla’ and so she will come back but she’s waiting to fight the winner,” Pena revealed.

Pena willing to fight Harrison next despite Nunes callout

Although Pena made it clear she would prefer to fight Nunes next instead of the Olympic gold medalist, she has now admitted that she is of course willing to defend her title against Harrison first.

“I didn’t have time to say this to Joe (Rogan in my post-fight interview), will I fight Kayla? Yes. Am I gonna fight Kayla? Yes. Am I running from Kayla? No. But at the end of the day, who are you gonna get your body in a trainwreck first with, for Amanda or Kayla and if you ask me it’s like, no the Amanda fight is bigger,” Pena added.

Harrison’s UFC 307 performance against Ketlen Vieira wasn’t one of her most impressive but after the fight, she revealed that a week before the event she was hospitalized for ‘peeing blood’, which has led to some concern.

Expert nutritionist, Tom Coughlin told Bloody Elbow that Harrison will need to adjust her walkaround weight and her muscle mass if she wants to avoid any further health complications.

“In that fight, you can see that she was gassing out a bit, and in order to fight me you have to fight for 25 minutes those are championship rounds, you also have to make championship weight… I do believe that her gas tank is going to be an issue,” Pena predicted.
