Joe Rogan has watched some of the most terrifying fighters of all time during his career in the UFC, but there’s only one that ‘really freaked’ him out.
The popular commentator confessed that this particular MMA icon was truly terrifying inside the cage.

Joe Rogan says Yoel Romero is the only UFC fighter who ‘really freaked’ him out
Of all the fighters Joe Rogan has ever commentated on in the UFC, Yoel Romero is the only one who really shook him to his boots.
The Cuban icon was built like a superhero, with possibly the most muscular physique the sport has ever seen.
However, ‘The Soldier of God’ wasn’t defined by his physique, with the ferocious competitor proving himself in not one but two sports.
Romero excelled in the world of freestyle wrestling, before making the switch to MMA, where he climbed the ranks of the UFC.

Blessed with thunderous power, the combat sports star scored terrifying knockouts over the likes of Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold.
And with such an intimidating aura, he really made an impression on Rogan, who told Jorge Masvidal during JRE MMA Show #137 that he can’t believe the UFC title challenger could make the middleweight limit.
The podcaster exclaimed: “The only guy who freaked me out was Yoel [Romero]. Yoel Romero would look so big at 185 pounds, you’re like, ‘How is that 185 pounds? How is that even possible’? He looks like a heavyweight.”
Masvidal replied: “I’ve known Yoel since he got to America. I was a fan of him before; I remember watching him compete in the Olympics.
Obviously, he’s Cuban, so my whole family, everybody, we were always cheering for this dude. This dude was f**ing Roy Jones Jr type cloth.”
Joe Rogan can’t believe Yoel Romero doesn’t lift weights
Continuing the conversation, Rogan pointed out that Romero “didn’t even start in the UFC until he was 36,” making the fact that he competed for a title even more impressive.
This prompted Masvidal to add: “And he doesn’t lift weights.”
With Romero’s remarkable muscles considered, this claim blew Rogan away.
Completely bamboozled, the mixed martial arts aficionado, shrieked: “He doesn’t lift weights?”
