Conor McGregor has the time of his life as all hell breaks loose at BKFC Spain weigh-in

Conor McGregor is loving life in his role as fight promoter.

Earlier this year, McGregor became a co-owner of Dave Feldman’s fledgling Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship [BKFC] and he’s really been taking his new job seriously.

The former dual-weight UFC champion has been pushing it on his social media pages ever since and he even talked it up over UFC 306 and Canelo Alvarez’s latest boxing bout.

Now he’s in Spain and preparing to promote the country’s first BKFC event.

Conor McGregor embraced the chaos at the BKFC Spain weigh-in

On Friday, he was charged with facing off a bunch of athletes after they made weight for BKFC Spain, which will take place at the Marbella Arena on Saturday night.

Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto will battle for the BKFC lightweight title in the main event of the evening, but they tried to get their scrap started 24 hours early.

Their heads came together before pushes were exchanged and security – with a little bit of McGregor who was holding the belt – stepped in to ensure things didn’t get out of hand.

As both men were dragged away from each other, McGregor lifted the title aloft and repeatedly shouted ‘Yeah’ as he revelled in the carnage that was unfolding around him.

Throughout the rest of the pre-fight event, McGregor was seen bouncing around the stage, screaming, cheering on the fighters and handing out high fives like they were going out of fashion.

The 36-year-old reserved an extra-warm reception for Oscar Willis, who runs his website ‘The Mac Life’ and will make his bare-knuckle boxing debut against fellow MMA media member Ben ‘The Bane’ Davis

UFC CEO Dana White heard about the bizarre matchup earlier this week and when he was asked to give both men some advice he said, ‘Don’t do it!’

Conor McGregor is searching for a new UFC comeback opponent

McGregor hasn’t fought since his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier, even though his broken leg is fully healed, and he’s been calling for a return bout for some time.

Michael Chandler was supposed to welcome him back to MMA at UFC 303 in June, but McGregor broke his pinky toe in training and opted to withdraw from the contest.

Rather than wait for a new date, Chandler has agreed to take a rematch with Charles Oliveira, who previously knocked him out to win the lightweight title, at UFC 309 on November 16.

Now he’s considering other options for his first fight in well over three years.

“We are looking for the date,” McGregor told The Schmo.

“I’d like to square it away with Michael Chandler. You know, I’d like to get Chandler in, we’ve had our beef, and it’s not settled. He has a match scheduled. I would like to fight before he’s recovered.

“There’s a few names in the line at the minute. There’s a few names being discussed.”
