Dana White responds to Amanda Nunes’ cryptic video teasing UFC return… ‘I would absolutely love to see her come back’

Rather than calling out expected next contender Kayla Harrison at UFC 307 this past weekend, newly crowned bantamweight champion Julianna Pena would instead take aim at the consensus GWOAT, Amanda Nunes.

Whilst the global MMA community was initially critical of Julianna Pena’s callout, it appears that such a divisive post-fight speech is working wonders; with the former double champion now teasing a potential return to action on her Instagram.

Amanda Nunes posts cryptic, not-so-cryptic message directed at Dana White

A few days after being called out by at UFC 307, the ever-popular Amanda Nunes would excite fans by posting a message directly to Dana White on her Instagram page.

The iconic double champion donned her old TUF outfit for the video, in which she danced and sang along to a Brazilian samba song called ‘Outdoor’ – albeit with a few meaningful alterations to the lyrics when translated into English.

“I can’t believe that you won’t look for me. I’ve suffered too much beyond what I deserve… Oooh, Dana White please call, I miss you so much…Oh, please call, I miss you so much. Crazy to see you.”

Dana White would ‘love to see’ Amanda Nunes make UFC return

After tagging the UFC boss directly in the video message, it’s no surprise to hear that Dana White was delighted with The Lioness teasing that she could be considering a return to action.

“She looks good, she looks great,” he told reporters after the latest episode of Dana White’s Contender Series.

“Looks like she’s still in shape so you know where her head is at, and I love that about her… There are a lot of things that I love about her, and I love that about her.”

Whilst White acknowledged that the video isn’t proof that a return to the octagon is imminent, he did note that the message does bode well for those of us awaiting The Lioness’ next hunt.

“She’s keeping an eye on who wins the title next – I think she’s teasing that she might be interested in coming back…. I love Amanda Nunes, I have an incredible relationship with her, and I would absolutely love to see her come back.”

After besting Julianna Pena in their rather one-sided July 2022 rematch, Amanda Nunes bowed out last summer with a unanimous decision win over Irene Aldana.
