Amanda Nunes excites fans with cryptic message to Dana White after Julianna Pena call out at UFC 307

Amanda Nunes appears to be ready to end her brief MMA retirement.

‘The Lioness’ is widely regarded as the best female fighter in UFC history, but the fans were left wanting more when Nunes retired after beating Irene Aldana at UFC 289 in June 2023.

However, Nunes has now strongly hinted that she will make an MMA comeback.

Amanda Nunes sends cryptic ‘call me’ message to Dana White

On Monday, the Brazilian fight legend shared a video on Instagram that showed her dancing along as she sings a song in Portuguese called ‘Outdoor’ by Brazilian samba group Só Pra Contrariar.

Dana White was tagged in the post, and when the lyrics are translated to English it becomes very clear that she is sending a message to the UFC boss.

Nunes slightly tweaked the lyrics to make her cryptic message as clear as possible.

“Call me, please,” she sang before adding. “I miss you so much.”

It wasn’t long before her post went viral on several social media platforms.

UFC fans are massively excited about her potential return to the Octagon.

One person tweeted: “Love it.”

Another said: “The lyrics in the song are sending the message.”

A third person added: “I’m not gonna lie this is fire.”

Someone else laughed: “Haha, she knows how easy it’s gonna be, getting the belt back!”

Julianna Pena issued shock call-out after her title win at UFC 307

Nunes’ comeback hint comes days after she received an unexpected call-out from Julianna Pena following her bantamweight title win over Raquel Pennington at UFC 307.

Pena famously submitted Nunes in one of the biggest upsets of all time before the Brazilian got the better of her during a five-round rematch.

Nunes retired before a trilogy fight could take place. It was thought that Pena would make the first defence of her second reign as champion against a former PFL star.

Kayla Harrison beat Kelten Viera at UFC 307 and was sitting backstage waiting for Pena to call her out during her post-fight interview with MMA icon Joe Rogan.

That didn’t happen and she made it clear she believes there’s unfinished business with Nunes.

“What I would really like is for Amanda Nunes to quit ducking and come back inside this Octagon and let’s settle it,” Pena said.

“We are 1-1. That would be the greatest fight in mixed martial arts history in the bantamweight division the sport has ever seen.

“I do not believe that she’s done [despite her] being retired.

“I wanna see her back inside the Octagon so well can settle the score once and for all.”
