Joaquin Buckley and Daniel Cormier get heated during an interview as they talk about their ongoing feud

This coming Saturday at UFC 307, Joaquin Buckley takes on his toughest test to date as he squares off with Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, but ahead of that, he has attempted to squash his feud with Daniel Cormier.

Now riding a four-fight win streak, Joaquin Buckley has been afforded a fight inside the top ten of the division against fan favorite, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson.

Despite Thompson being 1-3 in his last four fights the 41-year-old recently admitted that he is not considering retirement and instead has set himself a new goal.

Joaquin Buckley and Daniel Cormier get heated in interview following online feud

Following ‘New Mansa’s’ recent win over Nursulton Ruziboev, the 30-year-old called for a fight against Conor McGregor, which was labeled by UFC commentator Daniel Cormier, as ‘the worst call out of all time’.

Subsequently, the two went back and forth online regarding Cormier’s comments, and things seemingly began to get relatively feisty.

Despite that, ahead of Buckley’s fight this coming Saturday, the UFC commentator interviewed him for his YouTube channel and the two talked out their beef and things once again got quite heated.

“We’re men, so we have to have a conversation,” Cormier began to explain.

“Online we can yell, we can scream, we can do all these things but when you see face to face, we have to communicate, we have to talk to each other, so my question to you is, where did we get off track you and I?” Cormier asked Buckley.

“To be honest with you, from the very start, it was just off that post and what you said (about the worst call out of all time). I just feel like you misquoted me, that’s all that was, about Conor McGregor and calling him out… It was the other things you said. You said I called Conor McGregor’s mother a bad name and I didn’t do that,” Buckley responded.

The two began to get heated as Buckley explained that in his post-fight interview, he stated that McGregor’s mother raised a ‘h*e’.

“That’s the problem though, you can’t be saying momma raised a h*e because you’re talking about this dude’s mom still, that’s disrespectful Joaquin… Come on man, we can’t do that, we just don’t do that,” Cormier retaliated.

The former UFC double champion went on to explain that it was similar to a situation he had with bitter rival Jon Jones, when ‘Bones’ claimed he was Cormier’s ‘daddy’.

Joaquin Buckley admits he would’ve preferred the conversation without cameras

Following his interview with Cormier, Buckley went on to complete his media obligations at media day, ahead of the biggest fight of his career.

Talking to the media in attendance, ‘New Mansa’ admitted that he thought the conversation between him and Cormier was going to be just the two of them behind closed doors with no cameras.

“I just got done talking to DC. It was cool, we was in front of the camera. I thought we were gonna just be in the room by ourselves and just talk like men. But it is what it is. We had a good conversation… Off camera and just man to man, that’s the type of conversation I would’ve rather had,” Buckley stated.
