Joaquin Buckley unites with Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson ahead of UFC 307 after years of being compared to Hollywood actor

Joaquin Buckley finally met up with his celebrity lookalike Ernie Hudson as he completed his preparations for this weekend’s UFC fight.

‘New Mansa’ is set to face Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson on Saturday night at UFC 307, and has arrived in Salt Lake City to finish off his training camp. Buckley took in a recent convention in Utah, and managed to run into a man that has been dubbed his ‘dad’; Ghostbusters star Hudson.

And while he is all in on fighting, he joked that he could be set for a role in the next Ghostbusters movie given his resemblance to the famed actor.

Rampage Jackson tells Joaquin Buckley that his father could be Ernie Hudson

Growing up in St Louis, Missouri, Joaquin Buckley was raised by his mother while his father was out of his life. He has since met with his dad as an adult, but he has been relatively guarded about his family situation.

But during an appearance on the JAXXON podcast with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, the legendary former UFC champion joked that his father could be Hollywood sensation Hudson, who famously starred in Ghostbusters and The Basketball Diaries.

“Have you ever met your dad,” Jackson asked, to which Buckley replied that he had, but they had never taken a photo together. “I ain’t going to lie, bro, I thought your dad was that n***** from Ghostbusters, man, you look just like that motherf***er.”

Buckley got in on the joke, laughing along with co-hosts Bear Degidio and former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold before noting that “everybody say I look like a 80s character anyway.”

After that podcast appearance, Buckley took the joke one step further, heading to some sort of film convention in Utah to meet Hudson himself. The pair came face-to-face and filmed a brief video where the actor joked that Buckley could be his son.

“Y’all see the resemblance?” Buckley asked the camera, to which Hudson replied: “Yeah, hey man, this is my, I don’t want to say my son,” The welterweight then joked that if he is his son, that the “Ghostbusters check is going to be crazy.”

“You think I could play the next Ghostbusters character?” Buckley then asked, to which Hudson replied that all he had to do was “shape up” and that he would otherwise be ready. He then asked fans again “Could this be my daddy?”

Fans in the comments were in hysterics, with Jackson replying “That’s your daddy fam”. Another added that “If that ain’t your daddy, then I don’t know what happened.”
