Dricus Du Plessis trolls Brendan Allen over UFC Paris defeat, ‘All In’ fires back with ‘ducking’ claims of his own

In the co-main event of last night’s highly entertaining UFC Fight Night Paris card, French contender Nassourdine Imavov was able to out-point Brendan Allen over 15 grueling minutes.

Yet it was ‘All In’, and not Imavov, who garnered the attention of sitting UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis, who certainly made his feelings about the performance known on social media.

Brendan Allen drops decision to Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Paris

After an extremely positive opening round, American Brendan Allen failed to capitalize on his early momentum as French contender Nassourdine Imavov was able to run away with the contest through the second and third.

Despite Allen being a seasoned grappler, it was the wrestling of Imavov that made the difference at the Accor Arena; with ‘Sniper’ out-striking Allen 57-30 as he then racked up just under six minutes of control time across the final two rounds.

Following the decision win, Imavov would call for a rematch with former champion Sean Strickland, whilst Allen would find himself in the crosshairs of the current middleweight champion.

It was a particularly frustrating night for Allen, who took to social media in the immediate aftermath of the 29-28 (x3) defeat to admit that he failed to make the necessary adjustments.

“Wasn’t my night tonight, made bad decisions, bad adjustments; I did something wrong and hats off to Imavov, it was his night, it wasn’t mine – it sucks.

“Disappointed in myself but luckily, I’m young and I’ll be back, try to be better but thanks to everyone for the support and the love – I still think that I’ll be champion one day, it’s just another long journey to the top again, see you next time.”

Only a few minutes after the judges’ scorecards were announced, middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis would take to social media to rub salt in the wound.

“Tough luck Brendan Allen,” the South African wrote on X, before adding “JK you suck loser” with a laughing emoji.

‘All In’ would respond just a few minutes later by claiming that DDP has been avoiding him ever since he made his UFC debut back in 2019.

“Says the one been ducking me since getting in. We don’t all get the easy route. Wasn’t my night tonight……but I’ll still f*** you up.”

Unsurprisingly, fans of the South African brawler were quick to point to what they believe to be a gulf in class between DDP and the rest of the middleweight division; following UFC Paris’ co-main event coming to a decidedly one-sided conclusion.

Following the result at the Accor Arena, Allen drops to 24-6 as a professional whilst Imavov improves his record to 15-4.
