‘[Khalil] Rountree is going to whoop him’… MMA legend insists Alex Pereira will lose via KO at UFC 307

While many are convinced Alex Pereira will destroy Khalil Rountree, one MMA legend is utterly convinced the contender will finish ‘Poatan’ via KO.

The light heavyweight championship will be on the line at UFC 307 on October 7, inside the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

Chael Sonnen picks Khalil Rountree to KO Alex Pereira at UFC 307

Next weekend, Alex Pereira will defend his 205-pound throne against Khalil Rountree, in a fight a portion of the MMA community views as a foregone conclusion.

Blessed with thunderous power, the Brazilian has rendered unconscious a plethora of combat sports stars, with a considerable number of fans expecting his streak to continue against his American adversary.

However, Chael Sonnen believes the public has got it completely and utterly wrong, insisting that Rountree will have his hand raised.

He’s even gone as far as to say, he’ll render the UFC pound-for-pound number two, unconscious.

Sheesh: Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson reveals the only time he ‘lost his temper’ in a fight

In a video published on his YouTube channel, he said: “[Khalil] Rountree is going to whoop him. Rountree is going to win this fight. Rountree has never found himself in a fight where someone is coming at him with kickboxing, and he did not cover and boom, boom, boom (mimics shots) and put him down.

“There is a built-in narrative that Rountree can’t go with him, that he shouldn’t be put in this position, that Rountree is being brought in to protect Pereira from [Magomed] Ankalaev. Rountree is not his best until someone is coming after him. That’s exactly the way Pereira fights.

“Alex is going to enter that Mike Tyson-type club, where guys toss it in the back and look for the nearest door to jump through. But I don’t think Rountree is going to do that.

“I fully understand how we have 4/1 odds favoring the guy that I’m telling you isn’t only going to lose, he’s going to get knocked out.”

Chael Sonnen predicts Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall will happen

It looks like picking Rountree over Pereira isn’t the only unpopular prediction Sonnen has made in recent times.

While the world would love to see Jon Jones finally put his UFC heavyweight title on the line against interim champion, Tom Aspinall, most have resigned themselves to the possible reality that the fight will never happen.

However, ‘The American Gangster’ is convinced that the two MMA superstars will eventually cross paths in the cage.
