Muhammad Mokaev says he is the ‘Highest-paid flyweight’ in MMA

On July 27, at UFC 304 inside the Co-op Live in Manchester, UK, Muhammad Mokaev produced another dominant performance against Manel Kape.

Following the fight, the 24-year-old told the media at the post-fight press conference that he had his sights set on 125-pound champion Alexandre Pantoja.

However, Dana White subsequently revealed that the UFC would not be renewing Mokaev’s contract, forcing the talented competitor to think about his options.

This sent the rumor mill into overdrive, with the MMA community desperately trying to work out where the gifted athlete would end up.

In the end, Mokaev resigned with Brave, with the intention of featuring in some mega-fights in the promotion.

Furthermore, he claims the organization is paying him extremely well for his services.

He tweeted: “Highest paid flyweight fighter in the world right now without holding the title @bravemmaf. But of course, my goal is come back to UFC because it is the number 1 promotion in the world right now!”

Muhammad Mokaev is determined to make a UFC comeback

While there are a plethora of interesting match-ups for Mokaev in Brave, including a potential collision with Jose Torres, judging by his post, it seems the grappler is still fixated on heading back to the UFC.

That might prove difficult as White has thus far seemed uninterested in giving the skilled operator another shot.

However, at just 24, if he can win the Brave CF title and pick up a few notable victories he could still get the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream.

But clawing his way back to the UFC, certainly won’t be an easy task.
