Kayla Harrison admits who she would prefer to fight for the title ahead of UFC 307… ‘I’d love to put an elbow through her giant forehead’

Following her emphatic promotional debut at UFC 300 back in April, Kayla Harrison thought she may have done enough to earn herself an immediate shot at the bantamweight title but she will have to get through Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307 first.

Kayla Harrison‘s UFC debut against Holly Holm at UFC 300 went as well as possible and the consensus was that she would be thrust straight into a title fight following the impressive win.

Despite that, the promotion announced that the current champion, Raquel Pennington, would make the first defense of her title against former champion, Julianna Pena on the same card that Harrison is scheduled to fight Ketlen Vieira.

Kayla Harrison admits who she’d prefer to fight for the title

With Harrison competing on the same card as the women’s bantamweight title fight, if there are any issues with either Pennington or Pena, the Olympic gold medalist will likely get promoted.

A win over the Brazilian, Vieira, will undoubtedly secure the 34-year-old the next title shot and she is even willing to fight all three bantamweight’s in the same night, as she knows it’s ‘only a matter of time’ before she becomes the champion.

“Cutting to 135(lbs) brings out a different beast in me, you know,” Harrison began to explain on the BYM Podcast.

“I will absolutely kill someone (if I don’t get a title shot), Dana White will find out hell has no fury like a woman’s scorn… I’m ready to fight that same night, I feel like if I fight, I dust up Ketlen real quick and then maybe one of those girls gets cold feet, I’ll just run back out if they need me to change uniforms that’s fine, I think I could take all three of those girls in the same night.

“It’s only a matter of time and they know it too, Julianna and Raquel all of them, they know that they’re just keeping the seat warm for me,” Harrison continued.

The former PFL lightweight champion has admitted who she would prefer to fight out of Pennington and Pena as she already has a history of beef with one of them.

“I really don’t care (who I fight for the title), I don’t let emotions get in the way of my business but if it was gonna be Kayla’s choice, of course I would love to put an elbow through Julianna’s giant forehead, that would bring me great joy,” Harrison admitted.

Kayla Harrison’s historic feud with Julianna Pena

Not only would Harrison prefer to fight the ‘Venezuelan Vixen’ for the title but that is the fight the majority of fans would like to see.

Harrison and the former champion have been going back and forth with each other since the 34-year-old joined the UFC and Pena has even accused Harrison of using PED’s throughout her career.

Because of the bad blood between the two, the lead-up to the fight and subsequent fight would likely be more entertaining than a potential fight against ‘Rocky’ Pennington.
