The Russian walked away from the sport of mixed martial arts in 2020, with an impressive undefeated record of 29-0.

Nurmagomedov is currently sparring at his old gym, American Kickboxing Academy, which he previously shared with the likes of Islam Makhachev and Daniel Cormier.

He recently shared an image on Instagram of his black eye, with a caption that suggests he’s past the peak of his powers.
The 35-year-old wrote: “Does it mean that I’m getting older?”

While many will be nothing short of buzzing after seeing Khabib back on the mats, there’s no indication that the icon is genuinely planning a return to action.
Thus, combat sports enthusiasts can only look back fondly on the moments he’s given them, and reflect on what might’ve been.
While the first fight with McGregor was undeniably one-sided, the violence that ensued afterward whetted the appetite among fans for a rematch.
