Mike Tyson throws a punch and pushes Jake Paul during heated face-off as boxing fight is rescheduled

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul put hands on one another as they were separated during an heated face-off in New York today.

The boxing legend and his YouTuber rival are fighting on November 15, and re-launched their event with a press conference at Fanatics Fest in the Javits Center on Sunday afternoon. Over 2,500 fans packed into the event’s main theater as thousands more were turned away for a raucous show.

Tyson was relatively subdued versus his former self, while Paul goaded both he and the New York crowd. But when the pair came face-to-face, things got physical as the hometown hero attempted to be humorous with some light movement and the pair had to be separated while shoving each other.

During the press conference itself, Mike Tyson was not willing to heavily engage with Jake Paul’s trash talk, instead keeping his answers short and sweet. But when he did speak, it garnered a massive reaction from the packed house that appeared to be almost entirely in favor of the boxing legend.

However, things got more heated as Paul and Tyson faced off following media questions, with the former heavyweight champion throwing a joking punch before a more serious shove. The punch was miles off landing, but his push was a tad more intense.

He was unable to move Paul much, and the social media star replied in an Instagram post saying you “Can’t move a brick wall”. While Tyson seemed to be laughing through it, the push did appear to have more serious intentions.

Mike Tyson maintained his composure during the press conference, even when Paul questioned the legitimacy of his health issue that caused their initial cancelation. It was very much carried as a show by Paul and host Ryan Clark, with the YouTuber bringing out some of his best lines.

“You’re the one that wanted eight, two-minute rounds,” Paul told Tyson after he was warned that he better arrive to the fight in shape. “You want ten threes? Don’t talk to me about shape, that’s the thing, everyone is all talk.

“I’ll do whatever, wherever, whenever, but with them it’s all talk. I’m stating facts, he’s s*** talking. I’m putting it all on the line.”

During Paul’s tirade, Tyson did have a quick reply that was spine chilling for viewers who remember his terrifying aura from years of massive knockouts. He told Paul that he had better arrive in shape because his “health depends on it”.

And when Paul slapped back with his own verbals, Tyson told him that he should “be careful” with his words. He then added that Paul “should be very fearful, yeah”.

Tyson has recently returned to camp, and told Bloody Elbow today: “I’m beautiful and I’ve been training. I’ve been training for a while, two weeks or three weeks and I’m okay to fight… I’m in camp right now.”
