UFC commentator, Jon Anik, was right in the middle of the action when things got extremely heated between Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya this Friday at the UFC 305 pre-fight press conference.
Although things have been heated for a while between current middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis and his upcoming opponent, Israel Adesanya, this Friday things rose to a new level.
The two middleweights who will headline UFC 305 traded their final verbal blows before their fight this Saturday, and things got emotional for Adesanya, who shed a tear after a comment made by Du Plessis.

Jon Anik compares Dricus Du Plessis’ trash-talk to Conor McGregor’s
With UFC CEO Dana White still not in Perth, Western Australia, hosting duties were left to UFC commentator, Jon Anik.
The play-by-play commentator was in the middle of the two heated 185lbers whilst things got heated, and he has now claimed that there is ‘no doubt’ the South African champion is one of the best trash talkers in the UFC.
Prior to his UFC 297 title fight against Sean Strickland, ‘Stillknocks’ brought up one of Strickland’s childhood traumas, which resulted in the outspoken middleweight later getting emotional about the incident. And now with Du Plessis reducing Adesanya to tears, UFC fans online are claiming he is 2-0 at press conferences.
The UFC has had some incredibly entertaining trash talkers over the years with Chael Sonnen, Rampage Jackson, and even Anik’s co-commentator, Michael Bisping, but Anik has compared Du Plessis’ talk on the mic to the greatest to ever do it, Conor McGregor.
“There is no doubt (he’s one of the best trash-talkers in the UFC) and not unlike Conor McGregor there’s nothing really scripted, certainly there is pre-thought but he’s just aureating naturally and you’re right, he’s getting under the skin of high-level opponents that maybe shouldn’t be taking that sort of bait,” Anik told MMAJunkie.

Dricus Du Plessis tells his opponents to stop crying at press conferences
The Bostonian commentator continued that Du Plessis’ ‘methodology and mentality’ are clearly in a great place ahead of the huge grudge match and that’s a ‘great thing’ for the champion.
Earlier this fight week, ‘Stillknocks’ claimed that Adesanya is in his own head ahead of their showdown, but because of his press conference comments, the South African will have surely got into the former champion’s head.
“I just sort of waxed poetic on Israel Adesanya, Dricus Du Plessis is the f****** man. To watch what this guy has done in his UFC career and just methodically go about his business. I think when you’re a man of truth as he is, you’re very comfortable in your own skin.
“I think as far as Dricus’ methodology and his mentality is concerned, it’s a great thing,” Anik stated.
Following the presser, Du Plessis took to social media and told his opponents to stop crying at press conferences.
