Dricus Du Plessis’ former opponent tells Israel Adesanya how to beat the champion at UFC 305

Ahead of his main event fight against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305 this coming Saturday, Israel Adesanya has been told the blueprint on how to beat the champion by former opponent, Darren Till.

Tensions are continuing to rise between the middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis, and former champion Israel Adesanya, ahead of their highly anticipated meeting at UFC 305 from the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia.

‘The Last Stylebender’ is returning from the longest hiatus he’s ever taken during his career, with his last fight coming 11 months ago against Sean Strickland.

Darren Till tells Israel Adesanya how to beat Dricus Du Plessis

During his time away from the action, Adesanya has been focusing on recovering from ongoing injuries and has also been taking time to build muscle ahead of his comeback.

Not only that but the former champion has also admitted that his UFC 305 fight camp is the first time he has lived like a real athlete, having made adjustments to his diet and daily lifestyle.

Although he and his team will have likely formed an intricate game plan for their huge fight on Saturday night, he has been told how to beat the champion by Du Plessis’ former opponent, Darren Till.

“Got some advice for Izzy on how to fight DDP on Saturday… Lots of feints… he reacts to them so much and throws from the hills. Then you can step back. Have a look and either go for the punch combo or knee maybe a kick,” Till began to explain in a post on X.

“You’re a high-level striker so you know what I’m on about… As he rushes in also do what you did against Rob and I did the same. Yours knocked Rob out whereas mine didn’t but still the same. DDP will rush in.

“Instead of standing back or going back like most of these silly stupid strikers do, stand your ground and just hit him with either again the punch combo or even a knee up the middle… Hope this advice goes well with you Izzy,” Till continued.

Dricus Du Plessis urges Israel Adesanya to pull out of UFC 305 fight

Ahead of their highly anticipated matchup, the champion has been claiming that he doesn’t think Adesanya still has the fire to compete at the highest level. As well as that, Du Plessis stated that Adesanya is ‘in his own head’ and that could be his downfall in this fight.

With that in mind, the South African champion has urged Adesanya to find a way to pull out of their UFC 305 fight.

“If I was in his shoes right now I would find a way to pull out of this fight, to be honest, because I’m coming. I’m feeling great, I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt,” the champion told New York Post Sports.

“The fire burning inside of me is just overshadowing his and I think that’s where my opinion comes from because I’m hungry like I’ve never been before,” he continued.

If ‘The Last Stylebender’ can dethrone ‘Stillknocks’ in his first title defense, he will become a three-time UFC middleweight champion, and possibly cement his name as the greatest 185lb fighter of all time.
