Jake Paul shares ‘concerned’ message from Mike Tyson ahead of Mike Perry grudge fight

Jake Paul is already booked for a next fight ahead of his meeting with Mike Perry in Tampa, Florida tonight.

The social media star was supposed to fight Mike Tyson tonight in a massive heavyweight clash that would have made history as the first boxing match broadcast on Netflix. But the fight was postponed to November when the boxing legend suffered a medical emergency.

However, Paul wanted to compete on the date regardless, and drafted in Perry from BKFC on short notice to keep himself active. But he is taking a big risk against the former UFC star, who hasn’t lost since leaving the promotion in 2021.

Jake Paul admits Mike Tyson is ‘concerned’ about Mike Perry fight

Ahead of his fight with Mike Perry tonight, Jake Paul has admitted that his November meeting with Tyson is on the line should he lose. Even in promoting this event, his Most Valuable Promotions hasn’t stopped ticket sales for the Tyson fight and it is still expected to take place on November 15.

“He’s doing good, he’s back in training,” Paul said during fight week when asked about Tyson’s thoughts on the event. “He was concerned about me taking this fight. He was like, ‘What is Jake doing, this guy Mike Perry is a killer’.

“He has some concerns but Tyson. My message to you is don’t worry, I’m going to put this guy to sleep. This guy is a Mike appetiser and then you’re next.”

Mike Tyson to re-enter boxing training by the end of July

The fight between Paul and Tyson was postponed when the heavyweight legend was recommended by doctors to take a break from training back in May. First reported by In Touch Weekly, eye witnesses claimed the boxing icon was dealt with by paramedics on board a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

Speaking with USA Today this week, Tyson’s agent Andrew Ruf explained that he will be back training ideally within the next few days. “Everything is on track,’’ he said in a positive update for the fight. “His doctor over at UCLA, they’ve been monitoring him really closely.

“They’re super happy with the progress. Everything is kind of full track to get back in there end of July and get working. I’ve been told that everything is completely on track and he is on pace to have no limitations at all. His physicians, Dr. Issa in particular, don’t believe there’ll be any limitations at all.’’

Most Valuable Promotions co-founder provides Mike Tyson update

Tyson has continued making promotional appearances for his businesses during his time away from training, and appears to be on the mend. This has irked Paul, who according to Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian has been wondering if he could have made the original date.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour: “He’s doing great and Jake is p***ed because he sees in Europe, living life, doing appearances, celebrating his birthday.

“And he’s like, ‘I thought he was injured, what’s going on?’ I talked to team Tyson yesterday and they said he’s back, not doing boxing training but doing strength and conditioning and he feels great.”
