’16 more weeks to become the beast’… Jon Jones reveals current weight as he hints again at November return

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has claimed he is now 16 weeks away from his highly anticipated return to the Octagon, as he continues his preparation to take on the most decorated heavyweight in UFC history.

Following his torn pectoral injury last year, undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, has been sat on the sidelines watching the division move without him.

Despite that, although the promotion integrated an interim title which was won by Tom Aspinall, ‘Bones’ will not fight the athletic Brit, and will instead fight a 41-year-old Stipe Miocic.

Jon Jones reveals his current weight as he hints again at November return

The 37-year-old has continuously stated online that his fight against Miocic will take place in November, but the promotion is still yet to announce it.

Miocic’s last fight came in 2021 when he was defeated by Francis Ngannou but despite that, he will jump right back into a title fight, despite his impending retirement.

‘Bones’ continues to try and spruce up the fight and get fans excited by it as there isn’t much interest for it at this point in the 41-year-old’s career.

“Tomorrow, I’ll be 37-years-old!! I’m 260 pounds 16 weeks away from fighting the most decorated heavyweight in UFC history,” Jones stated this past Thursday on X.

“I feel like I’m in a great spot right before training camp ramps up. My form is far from perfect in these videos, but I’m happy with it considering the surgeries I recently had, 16 more weeks to become the beast, that’s exactly what I will do,” the champion continued.

For Jones’ debut fight at heavyweight against Ciryl Gane last March, he weighed in at 248lbs and had spent years bulking up for his move up in weight.

Jones will have decisions to make if he gets past Miocic

It is still relatively unknown whether Jones will retire following his fight against Stipe. ‘Bones’, who has been extremely active on X over the past few months, responding to fans’ criticism, will have a choice to make.

Aspinall is scheduled to defend his interim title against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 on July 27, and with a win, the Brit is likely to continue pursuing a title unification bout.

Despite that, Jones has made it relatively clear that he isn’t interested in a fight against the 31-year-old, or at least not yet.

Current light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, has been hinting at a move up to heavyweight following his next fight, and Dana White has admitted that commentator, Joe Rogan, has been pushing him to make that fight, with White now stating that it’s a ‘possibility’.
