‘Joe Rogan is pushing me’… Dana White admits Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira is a ‘possibility’ due to demand

Following Alex Pereira’s light heavyweight title defense at UFC 303, UFC commentator Joe Rogan instantly called for the Brazilian star to move up to heavyweight to make history.

Jiri Prochazka stood no chance against the light heavyweight champion in their rematch at UFC 303 on June 29, as Alex Pereira once again finished the former champion in round two.

Following the bout, ‘Poatan’ hinted at a possible move up to heavyweight after he was prompted by UFC commentator, Joe Rogan.

Dana White says Alex Pereira vs Jon Jones is a ‘possibility’ as Joe Rogan keeps demanding

This wasn’t the first instance in which the 37-year-old champion has hinted at a possible move up in weight.

Following his UFC 300 title defense against Jamahal Hill, Pereira stated his desire to make a quick turnaround and fight for the heavyweight title, highlighting interim champ, Tom Aspinall, as a possible dance partner.

Despite it having not come to fruition, Rogan admitted to ‘Poatan’ in his UFC 303 post-fight interview that there is mass interest in him moving up to heavyweight.

The 37-year-old revealed that a heavyweight move is definitely in his future but recently stated that he doesn’t think it’ll happen this year as he believes he will defend his 205lb title against Magomed Ankalaev first.

Undisputed heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, is rumored to be defending his title against Stipe Miocic in November, and following that, a fight against Pereira could be possible according to UFC CEO, Dana White.

“It’s a possibility, I mean, (Joe) Rogan is pushing me right now to try and make that fight,” White admitted on The Big Podcast With Shaq.

“Guys, let me explain something to you, Jon Jones is a whole other level. I consider Jon Jones the greatest combat fighter of all time… Jon Jones is the nastiest dude ever in the history (of combat sports).

“Jon’s got a dark side to him, man, Jon’s got those dogs that’ll rip your arms apart and do all of that s***, he shoots guns. Jon Jones is a killer in every way that you can be a killer,” White added.

Tom Aspinall may have something to say about that possibility

Although the UFC boss has admitted that a fight between Pereira and Jones is possible, current interim heavyweight champion, Aspinall, may have something to say about that.

The Brit is scheduled to defend his strap against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 in Manchester on July 27, something that very rarely happens.

Aspinall has previously stated he would be excited to potentially fight ‘Poatan’ in a heavyweight clash. And that is something that could possibly happen to see who gets the opportunity to fight ‘Bones’ for the undisputed title.
