‘I’m bored and angry’… Sean Strickland backtracks and apologizes after David Goggins calls him out for sparring session

Sean Strickland has backtracked in his feud with David Goggins after the former Navy SEAL and ultramarathon runner called him out for a sparring challenge.

The 49-year-old influencer is famous for his intensive training sessions and running incredible distances, and was involved in Tony Ferguson’s last UFC fight camp. He has a large social media following, and recently entered into a feud with Strickland when he claimed that no Navy SEAL could keep up with him.

Goggins had agreed to a three-round boxing sparring session with former middleweight champion Strickland if the fighter could complete three days of his training regime. But it appears that such a deal won’t now be happening.

Sean Strickland apologizes and backtracks on David Goggins feud

Sean Strickland is infamously one of the UFC’s most notorious trash talkers, and he found himself in the crosshairs of David Goggins over the past few weeks. He claimed that no Navy SEAL could keep up with him for a five round spar of five minutes per round, which he proved in a recent video by beating one up.

Goggins had then offered Strickland three days on his intensive ‘hell week’ training program after being mocked by the fighter. In return, he would step into the ring with the top world title contender for three rounds, insisting that he had enough skills in the sport to avoid at the very least a brutal beating.

But now it appears that Strickland isn’t so keen on the deal, writing in a message on Instagram: “Ok fine… I’m sorry Goggins you’re cool I’m just bored and angry… You can show up but if not it’s cool man you’re a solid runner, you have some cool quotes… My mental stability is coming back lol.”

That caption accompanied a video in which Strickland explained himself, adding: “Hey guys, if I had to be completely honest I think I’m just bored and angry. I’m the number one contender, I got to wait for Izzy [Adesanya] and Dricus [Du Plessis] to get my shot,

“What does one do? I’m bored and angry. I’m training, I’m in shape, but what does one do? I’m just bored and angry.”

Sean Strickland branded David Goggins ‘a fraud’ in early exchanges

The message from Strickland about Goggins was a far cry from a post he had made just hours prior, where he branded the runner ‘a fraud’. After a back-and-forth online, the Navy SEAL made his feelings clear, offering up his services for a boxing spar in return for Strickland completing his program.

“Sean Strickland, you made the challenge to begin with,” Goggins wrote on Instagram. “I simply responded as any man would. You simply said that no Navy SEAL could train with you, talking about all of the hype about Navy SEALs, etc. Well, I am your guy!

“I don’t hate you, I don’t even know you but let’s stop running our mouths and just get this s*** knocked the f***ed out and move the f*** on already. Three days training with me and I will be more than happy to put the gloves on and spar with you.

“This is my last attempt to put an end to clickbaiting all of the bs. There’s just too much talk and no action!” He also showed off a DM he had sent to Strickland noting that he “can box ok” due to having “endurance in the sport” after his “old man f***ed me up for sport”.

Strickland’s response was brutal, repeatedly branding Goggins a fraud. He commented on the Navy SEAL’s video by saying: “This is why I make fun of you. I live in Las Vegas, you live in Las Vegas….. I train at Xtreme couture everyday, the door is always open…

“Instead let’s get on the tiktok and make a video lol.. Mitch Aguiar showed…. All you gotta do is walk in the door.”

He then shared another video in which he detailed why he enjoys mocking Goggins. “He is a fraudulent man,” Strickland explained. “He is an easy target, he is a fraud, bro you are so great at running down the street.

“You’re not hard, you’re not tough, you run my man. Do you know why I know you’re fraudulent? Because as I make fun of you and you post your little Tik Tok video ‘I’m a hard man, I’ll show up and handle this like a man’, no you won’t.

“Dude, I train at Xtreme Couture, I am easy to find. You live in Las Vegas, I live in Las Vegas, show up. Mitch [Aguiar] showed up, do you not know how to use GPS? Do you not know how to get in your car? How about you jog down?

“But you won’t because you are a fraud, you go on Tik Tok and make these stupid videos, you are a f***ing fraud. That’s why I make fun of you and that’s why you will never show up because I will expose you so just stay on f***ing Tik Tok and keep f***ing running or man up and show up which you won’t.”
