Former UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, has continued to go back and forth online with top featherweight contender, Movsar Evloev, as they attempt to book a fight with each other.
Aljamain Sterling made his 145lb debut this past April at UFC 300, dominating featherweight contender, Calvin Kattar, debuting in the rankings at number eight.
The undefeated, Movsar Evloev, on the other hand last fought at UFC 297 in January, controversially picking up a decision win over Arnold Allen.

Aljamain Sterling and Movsar Evloev continue their feud online
Since Sterling’s win over Kattar, the Russian contender has continued to call him out, as he saw his chances of fighting for the title slip away when Max Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje in emphatic fashion.
Although the two are clearly interested in fighting each other, the UFC has yet to put the fight together, and Evloev is blaming ‘Funkmaster’ for that.
“Aljo I spoke with the UFC and it was confirmed me and you August 24th main event, 5 rounds. If you’re not going to fight me then don’t waste my time. I’m not a bully but the only time I’ll bully you is in the cage. Sign the contract,” Evloev stated on X.
Despite Evloev’s claim, Sterling fired back stating that he spoke to the UFC and told them he wanted to fight in September.
“Jesus man. What is wrong with your ears bredren? I said September. For the 4th, maybe 5th time, if you don’t want to wait, then move on. Simple. Stop complicating this,” Sterling replied.
Evloev went on to mock Sterling for his 2017 knockout loss to Marlon Moraes, saying: “This is my plan, I don’t need wrestling with you good night,” and a picture of Sterling unconscious.
“You talk a lot for someone that pulls out of fights and then fights the way you do. I will make you remember these words when I make you my b****, while you’re trying to hold onto my legs,” Sterling responded.
The UFC featherweight title picture still unclear
Current featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria, is continuing to campaign for a fight against ‘Blessed’ Holloway, as their feud continues to spill over online.
Despite that, there is no date set for that bout, with ‘El Matador’s’ plan to defend the belt in Abu Dhabi at the end of October.
Former champion, Alexander Volkanovski, is considering a move up to lightweight again, instead of sitting around and waiting for the culmination of Topuria vs Holloway. However, ‘The Great’ did recently admit that he was told by the promotion that if he could wait, his next fight would be for the 145lb title.
Soaring contender, Diego Lopes, called for a fight against the Australian, following his impressive win at UFC 303 but that looks increasingly unlikely following Volkanovski’s callout of Charles Oliveira.
