‘He will eat this guy like a sandwich’… Ali Abdelaziz backs Belal Muhammad to dethrone Leon Edwards at UFC 304

Not only does Ali Abdelaziz think Belal Muhammad will beat Leon Edwards at UFC 304, but he’ll do so in such dominant fashion, that it’ll be comparable to him eating the welterweight champion ‘like a sandwich’.

The two welterweights are set to square off on July 27 at the 23,500-seater Co-op Live in Manchester, UK.

Ali Abdelaziz expects Belal Muhammad to eat Leon Edwards ‘like a sandwich’ at UFC 304

With their last fight ending in a no contest, Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad, can’t wait to set foot in the octagon for the second time and finally settle the score.

In their first encounter back in 2021, the Brit started fast, lighting his rival up with an array of impressive punches and kicks.

With such a polished showing, Edwards looked on course for a comprehensive victory. However, in a moment of disaster, he accidentally landed a brutal eye poke, leaving his opponent in tears and in no state to continue.

The whole situation left both men with a bitter taste in their mouths. While the now-world champion feels he was robbed of a victory, Muhammad is convinced if that fight had continued, he would’ve found a way to grind his opponent down.

Luckily, they finally have a chance to claim the bragging rights. Since the last time they traded leather, Edwards has climbed the mountain, and his adversary has more than proved himself, claiming wins over Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson.

His manager, Ali Abdelaziz, believes he’s improved to such an extent, that not only will he claim the belt, but he’ll do so in extraordinary fashion.

The polarizing character tweeted: “Belal will finish Leon Edwards in under three rounds,” to which a fan replied: “Belal couldn’t finish a sandwich.”

Utilizing his creativity, Abdelaziz fired back: “He will eat this guy [Edwards] like a sandwich. Don’t worry, just buy the pay-per-view.”

Ultimately, the reigning welterweight King is baffled as to where the confidence in his rival’s camp is coming from.

Leon Edwards believes Belal Muhammad is acting ‘entitled’

While Muhammad has undeniably honed his craft since his last battle with the 170-pound champion, it remains to be seen whether he’s closed the gap enough to pull off a victory.

Unsurprisingly, Edwards believes he’s still leaps and bounds ahead of the American and isn’t too sure why his nemesis is so convinced he has the beating of him.

When the Jamaican-born athlete squares off with Muhammad later this month, he expects to do just as good a job as the first time.

In an interview on The MMA Hour, he explained: “I feel like he needs to calm down. I don’t understand where his confidence is coming from.

“He has improved since we last fought. But I don’t get the confidence, the arrogance, and entitlement. Like, relax! I went for the same, kind of longer road than he did. I held it out and got it done.”
