Nate Diaz remained coy about his thoughts when he learned that he had made Conor McGregor over $1.6million with his win last night.
The Irishman has a long-standing feud with Diaz that dates back to an infamous 2015 callout which led to two iconic UFC fights in 2016. But after spending so long together in the octagon, there is a grudging respect between the two that emerges regularly.
And it ended up being a big earner for McGregor last night as he backed his frenemy to beat Jorge Masvidal in their boxing match. He put up $500,000 on the bout, and when Diaz won a Majority Decision he ended up pocketing $1,625,000 as a result.

Conor McGregor makes $1.1million profit on massive $500,000 Nate Diaz bet
After asserting that Jorge Masvidal would be no sort of challenge for Nate Diaz last night, Conor McGregor decided to put his money where his mouth was. He declared that his old rival should have minimal issues in his sophomore boxing outing, and wagered $500,000 on that being correct.
With the odds he was given by a sponsor, McGregor ended up taking home $1.625million when the scorecards were read. This means a massive profit over more than $1.1million for the Irishman, who celebrated the result the following morning on social media.

“I’ve decided to put $500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match,” he wrote on Saturday evening, before the pair had stepped into the ring. “Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever.
“They are both little play around dips***s in a fight, play around b*****, but I feel Nate does him in EASY here for real. $500k gets me back $1,625,000 all in.”
And when the result went his way, he expressed his delight by tweeting: “THE RICH GET RICHER!!! Well done Nate, congrats!” He also declared that his winnings would be used for “Yacht fuel,” while telling Diaz “Nice! Thanks.”
Nate Diaz has muted response to learning how much Conor McGregor made on his fight
After his hard-fought ten round victory, Diaz met with the press where he spoke about his next plans and his thoughts on the result. But when he was quizzed about McGregor’s winnings, he was relatively quiet in his response.
When one reporter informed Diaz about how much money McGregor had made, he took a few seconds to respond. Eventually, he gave a brief answer, telling the room: “That’s cool, good job for us!”
When McGregor saw his old rival’s comments, he jokingly replied on X by writing: “I make ya so much money you can swim in it!”
The pair’s grudging respect comes up regularly when either one is interviewed, with Diaz telling the All The Smoke Podcast ahead of Saturday’s fight that the pair are cool. But he also couldn’t resist launching a jibe at his rival in the same sentence.
Asked if he felt the pair “elevated each other”, Diaz replied: “100 per cent… I think he’s cool but f*** him!”
