Jake Paul called out by son of legendary boxer ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed ahead of debut at Misfits Dublin

Sami Hamed, son of legendary boxing champion Prince Naseem Hamed, is set to make his debut in just a few weeks’ time at Misfits Dublin.

If you are either a young or relatively new fan of boxing, Bloody Elbow begs you to find five minutes in your day to watch highlights of ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed in action on YouTube.

The legendary Southpaw held multiple featherweight titles in the late ’90s to early 2000s, becoming a fan favorite around the world thanks to his genuinely insane ring entrances and arguably the single most entertaining fighting style in all of boxing.

Now, decades after hanging up the gloves, Sami Hamed is set to make his own entrance into the sport in just a few weeks’ time; and it’s safe to say that the son of Prince Naseem is a superstar in his own making.

Sami Hamed open to fighting Jake Paul ahead of Misfits debut

Sami Hamed, son of Prince Naseem Hamed, is set to make his debut on August 31 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, on the undercard of KSI’s 2vs1 event against TikTok star Jesse Clarke.

Earlier in the year, Misfits Boxing made headlines when they held the first-ever Tag-Team match and whilst it was certainly an unusual spectacle for traditional fans of the sport, it’s hard to argue that it wasn’t a blazing success for the promotion.

Speaking via the JNMEDIAUK YouTube channel following the MF x DAZN Series 17 press conference, Sami Hamed revealed that he’d be open to participating in such a unique match.

Hamed laughed as he stated it would be “madness” to see both him and brother Aadam featuring in a Tag-Team boxing matchup, before throwing out two names who could help make that happen: brothers Logan and Jake Paul.

“Big up Misfits for everything they do because they’re killing it but to be honest with you, me and the broski doing the Tag-Team, I can’t see it happening, unless Logan Paul and Jake Paul fancy it.”

Whilst the possibility of a Hamed vs Paul Tag-Team might be slightly outside the realms of reality, the chance of a solo boxing fight between Sami and Jake is undoubtedly far closer within reach.

Unsurprisingly, given Paul’s notoriety and popularity, the son of the legendary Prince Naseem Hamed would jump at the opportunity to face such a well-known opponent.

“This game is all about dough, this game is all about money, I’m in here for the dough and that’s the truth.

“100% it’s about legacy and all of that crack but at the same time, if Jake Paul wanted to get it on with me for a load of dough, I would love to.”

Sami Hamed shares predictions for Jake Paul vs Mike Perry, Mike Tyson

Jake Paul is himself in training camp for his own upcoming boxing spectacle, this time against former UFC fighter and Bare Knuckle superstar ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

Despite being a MMA veteran with one of the most legendary chins in all of combat sports, Hamed expects Paul to make easy work of the BKFC icon on July 20.

“I reckon Jake Paul does him, I just think he’s too big and trains very hard. He looks massive at the minute; I’ve been looking at it. Jake Paul’s going to do it I reckon.”

As long as Paul doesn’t suffer a brutal KO or injury, he’ll step in the ring a few months later to face the legendary boxer Mike Tyson on Netflix.

Given both his family’s iconic relationship with boxing and his own desire to one day face Paul, it’s no surprise that Hamed isn’t a fan of that particular matchup being put together.

“I’d rather him not fight Mike Tyson only because Jake, as much as we all say what we want, I feel like he’s a dangerous man especially to these people [and] Mike’s a 60-year-old guy.

“I don’t want there to be kids out there to think ‘Oh, Jake Paul’s a better boxer than Mike Tyson’. So, I’d rather see it not go down to tell you the truth.”

Fans can watch Sami Hamed in action live on DAZN on August 31, ahead of the return of KSI in the main event of the evening as he takes on both ‘Slim’ and Anthony Taylor.
