Fan favourite lightweight Jared Gordon has spoken out after what fans have branded yet another ‘robbery’ in his ill-fated last few years.
The New Yorker infamously lost one of the most controversial UFC decisions in recent history against Paddy Pimblett at the end of 2022. And his next fight against Bobby Green ended in a no contest after a clash of heads.
He managed to get back to winning ways with a stunning first round knockout of Mark Madsen in November, but has now tasted yet another bitter defeat. His UFC Saudi Arabia clash with Nasrat Haqparast was his path into the top 15, although he ended up on the wrong side of a split decision.

Fans outraged as Jared Gordon is once again ‘robbed’ in major UFC fight
Since his loss to Pimblett, fans have been eager to see Jared Gordon get some good moments and push on, with many feeling he truly won that night. And he looked on track to start a two-fight winning run last night in Riyadh after a three-round battle with Haqparast.
After three consecutive wins, Haqparast was on an impressive run with the winner likely to steal a spot in next week’s lightweight rankings. But he struggled with Gordon’s pace and at no point appeared to have taken control of proceedings.

When the decision was read, Haqparast appeared visibly relieved by the result, while Gordon managed to hide his frustrations. And social media users were outraged, with many noting that it appears the New Yorker is too regularly on the wrong side of these close decisions.
One wrote: “You can’t help but feel bad for Jared Gordon. That’s twice now he has been egregiously robbed.” He then implored promotional boss Dana White to “Do the right thing and pay this man his win money.”
Another added: “Jared Gordon just got robbed again, twice now he has been brutally robbed these UFC judges are turning into boxing judges.” More fans shared their sentiments, with one adding: “Sucks to see Jared Gordon on the bad side of another robbery.”
Jared Gordon breaks his silence after controversial UFC Saudi Arabia loss in ambulance video
Gordon was clearly battered and bruised after the fight, however, and had to be transported to a Saudi Arabian hospital. On his way there in the ambulance, he told fans that ‘it is what it is’ as he reflected on yet another bitter result.
The lightweight appeared in okay spirits as he was joined by his team, and did well to hide the emotions he must have been feeling after another rough result. Gordon refused to complain too harshly about the result, instead simply noting that he felt he had done enough for a victory.
“What’s up guys?” He said in a video showing off his battle scars. “I’m on the way to the hospital. I don’t know, it is what it is baby. But, I thought I won. I guess I didn’t again. But, hey, I’ll be back. Love you all, thank you, thanks to my team, you guys are the best.”
