With the world awaiting confirmation of the next UFC featherweight title fight with bated breath, Brian Ortega claims he already knows what the promotion plans to do.
Since its inception, the division has produced a multitude of sensational match-ups, and if ‘T-City’ is right, the next title fight at 145 pounds is one fans can’t afford to miss.

Brian Ortega claims Ilia Topuria vs Max Holloway is already a done deal
From Jose Aldo knocking out Chad Mendes with one of the greatest knees in UFC history, to Conor McGregor rendering the Brazilian unconscious in thirteen seconds, the featherweight division has produced a plethora of epic moments.
The new champion, Ilia Topuria, made his own little piece of history when he destroyed long-reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski with a thunderous right hand, left hook combination to send the Aussie spiraling towards the canvas.
Blessed with remarkable skills, at just 27, the world is the Spaniard’s oyster, especially with his raucous fans hopeful of one day witnessing their hero compete at Real Madrid’s home stadium.
And the only natural opponent for the talented operator for his next outing is the reigning BMF King, Max Holloway.
Oh no: Conor McGregor warned he’s never going to fight again by MMA icon after UFC 303 pull-out
Coming off one of the most spectacular finishes the sport has ever seen, at UFC 300 during a hotly-contested bout with Justin Gaethje, he pointed to the center of the octagon with ten seconds to go, and knocked his rival spark out.
With so much momentum on their sides, the prospect of a match-up between Topuria and Holloway is nothing short of what MMA dreams are made of.
Luckily, the bout could be within reach, with Brian Ortega claiming it’s already a done deal.
In an interview with Shak MMA, the American said: “I think that fight is already made from what I heard. I could be wrong. But I’m usually not wrong.”
And with fans discussing rumors of a potential date, it appears Ortega could be right.
When could Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway fight?
While the UFC is yet to even confirm the match-up let alone announce a date, MMA enthusiasts are speculating that the pair could square-off on September 6 at UFC 306 for Mexican Independence Day.
The major event, scheduled for The Las Vegas Sphere in Nevada, USA, has the potential to be one of the most visually stunning in the history of the company.
The recently-opened $2.3 billion venue is renowned for its aesthetically mesmerizing shows, with a plethora of heavy hitters of the music industry taking to the stage to produce spectacular performances.
Therefore, a title fight of the quality of Topuria vs Holloway, would be the perfect way for Dana White to make his debut at the arena.
However, the featherweight title clash isn’t the only match-up in the running to headline the card, with Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler supposedly another option.
Regardless, the UFC President is doing everything in his power to make the event one of the greatest of all time, recently revealing just how much he’s spent on making his vision a reality.
