While Jorge Masvidal has a massive task on his hands in the form of Nate Diaz, he’s already setting his sights on blockbuster collisions with Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather.
‘Gamebred’ is currently scheduled to take on Stockton’s finest at the Honda Center, Anaheim, California, USA, on July 6.

Jorge Masvidal aims to secure huge boxing bouts with Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul
Blessed with formidable skills and a no-nonsense attitude, Jorge Masvidal has cemented his place among the most popular fighters in UFC history.
Throughout his incredible career, the 39-year-old has entertained hardcore fans with his courageous style in the cage. However, it wasn’t until 2019, that he really caught the imagination of the wider public.
A stunning upset KO victory over Darren Till set the wheels in motion for one of the most impressive runs the promotion has ever seen.
His devastating performance over the Brit was followed by one of the most insane finishes of all-time. After just five seconds, Masvidal rendered the previously unbeaten, Ben Askren, unconscious with a horrifying flying knee.

With his popularity at an all-time high, he grasped the opportunity to fight for the BMF title, dominating the contest until the doctor deemed his rival, Nate Diaz, unable to continue due to cuts. Thus, while Masvidal was clearly the better fighter on the day, the stoppage has left an element of doubt in the back of fans’ minds.
Luckily, there won’t be any questions after the pair throw down in California next month. And with confidence bursting from the seams, Masvidal is already focused on potential match-ups with Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquaio, and Logan Paul.
In an interview with talkSPORT, he explained: “I would like Logan Paul, he had some good moments with Floyd Mayweather. He hurt him a couple of times. He would break the internet and sell a tonne. That way, I would get a chance to get my feet wet in boxing, and then for my third fight, Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquaio is what I want to do. I want to bite down on my mouthpiece and go in there with one of those greats, and just f***ing throw down.
“Hats off to Francis Ngannou because he stepped in there and said, ‘Tyson Fury, let’s go. Anthony Joshua, let’s go’. But I just want to learn the craft. I’ve been doing MMA for twenty years, so I know how to fight. But boxing is different, you stand different and the range is different. The more time I have to process this information, the better. I wouldn’t mind breaking PPV records with Logan Paul for the next one, set a lot of money aside, and then do Mayweather, Pacquiao or something massive.”
The potential bouts would undoubtedly send shockwaves through the combat sports community. But there’s another man calling for his shot at the MMA legend, but Masvidal doesn’t view him as a genuine threat.
Jorge Masvidal slams Chael Sonnen amid boxing fight rumors
Throughout the build-up to his bout with Anderson Silva last weekend, Chael Sonnen regularly referred to a collision with Jorge Masvidal, allegedly set to take place later this year.
However, it appears the Miami brawler isn’t overly invested in the potential fight.
As talkSPORT host Adam Catterall mentioned, Paul, Mayweather, and Pacquiao, the ex-BMF King, raised a smile from ear to ear. But when ‘The American Gangster’s’ name reared its ugly head, the formidable operator gave a perplexed reaction, suggesting that the charismatic athlete would be nothing more than a stepping stone to bigger things.
Masvidal explained: “I could just do Chael really quick to stay busy. But Chael can’t box, bro. We’d have to do it at heavyweight, and I’d have to sign a clause that I’d only use my lead hand. He’s f***ing saying this and that. The guy doesn’t want to box, I’d break his f***ing face, man.”
Regardless, before the renowned striker can prove himself against Paul, Mayweather, Pacquiao, or even Sonnen, he must first dispatch of Diaz, who certainly isn’t coming to make up the numbers.
