Logan Paul tells Donald Trump how he offered to fight his brother Jake after Mike Tyson fight was postponed

YouTube star Logan Paul had told of how he almost fought his brother Jake in a boxing fight this summer.

The social media siblings have both made the transition into boxing in recent years with major pay-per-view fights. The younger of the two has found considerably more success while his older brother enjoys a massive run in the WWE where he is currently United States champion.

But speaking with former president Donald Trump during a recent episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Logan told of how he almost made a rare brother vs brother bout happen. Jake was due to face Mike Tyson on July 20, but the bout was postponed to November, leaving a slot which he attempted to fill.

Logan Paul held serious talks with Netflix about potential Jake Paul fight

Earlier this month, news emerged that boxing icon Tyson had suffered an ulcer flareup that saw him receive medical attention on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. Doctors eventually warned him against fighting on July 20, meaning that his bout with Jake Paul was moved to November 15.

In the meantime, Netflix were looking at potential options alongside Most Valuable Promotions, who were staging the bout. And Jake’s older brother Logan Paul publicly called out his sibling on social media, with the pair seemingly accepting.

However, the bout didn’t happen as the broadcaster wanted to push forward with their first live boxing event featuring Mike Tyson. When asked about if he had ever fought his brother by former president Trump on his podcast, Logan said that they hadn’t even sparred, but almost fought this summer.

“I was willing to step in for Mike Tyson when he got sick and they had to postpone his fight,” the elder Paul brother said. “And we actually ran it up the chain at Netflix.”

When Trump noted that “it’s hard for brothers to fight”, having previously claimed that both were very impressive boxers, Logan replied that it wasn’t hard “on Netflix for a big ol’ bag. We can figure it out once and for all.”

Trump then asked him again, questioning whether or not he loved his brother. “Well, me and Jake decided that obviously we both come from a place of love,” he replied. “And whatever the outcome would be, we would have to be okay with it.”

The former president then told Paul that it would be hard to throw shots at his sibling’s face, to which he replied: “Obviously I love my brother but just one time for the rest of history, that night goes down forever but Jake is tough, he’s good, but I’m 1-0 in the streets.”

Logan Paul made short work of Bradley Martyn in secret bare knuckle MMA fight

While Jake clearly has the better boxing career of the Paul brothers, it appears that Logan had the more impressive pedigree when the pair were wrestlers in high school before fame. He got the chance to put that grappling to the test in a recent unsanctioned MMA fight with bodybuilder Bradley Martyn last week.

The pair had been feuding for the best part of a year, and finally settled it at his Zoo Culture Gym in Los Angeles. Neither man had cameras recording the altercation, but in a phone call with his brother Jake that was recorded by his podcast co-host Mike Majlak he gave a breakdown of proceedings.

“Fight starts, I hit him with the jab,” he said. “I think he got a little bit of a mark on his face I think from that because it was the only punch I really hit him with.

“I hit him with the jab, he tried to take me down and we kind of went back into a wall so he couldn’t take me down. I got in double underhooks so I went for a bear hug but his weight was distributed too far back so I couldn’t get in.

“Then we kind of got into a weird clinch position, we backed up, then he threw a punch, he missed, I went under him. Then he kind of tried to get like a guillotine and lock my head. So I just used that, picked his a** up, slammed him on the ground.

“And then he had his one arm in, you know with a guillotine you’re supposed to do two? So he had a decent position but you’re never going to get me with one arm so I just slowly stayed calm, peeled it off – full mount.

“Now I’m ready to f***ing tee off, and he knew that so he flipped to his stomach. I had a rear naked choke in for one second but it slipped out, no legs – I didn’t even need to because he was flat – and then I just popped his head like a speed bag. Bro, that s*** was bouncing, it was soft too. Just bing, bing, bing.”
