‘He’s looking like the old Conor McGregor’… UFC legend makes bold claim ahead of McGregor’s UFC 303 comeback fight

Last week, Conor McGregor posted a series of new training videos, putting doubts to bed that his UFC 303 comeback fight against Michael Chandler is off.

The UFC postponed their scheduled Dublin press conference last Monday, resulting in fans speculating whether the UFC 303 main event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler was still on.

A few days later, the Irishman posted several training videos on his Instagram, which led to fans growing in excitement that the former double champion would make his return.

Michael Bisping claims McGregor looks like ‘The old Conor McGregor’ ahead of UFC 303

The last time the superstar stepped foot in the Octagon was back in July 2021, when he broke his leg during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.

Despite that being an incredibly hard injury to come back from, UFC legend, Michael Bisping, has claimed that the Irishman looks like the McGregor of old.

“That was nice,” Bisping reacted to one part of the training footage. “Slips the left jab, left hand, right uppercut, that left hand that he’s known for, still got the timing, power, and speed, still got the accuracy as well.

“Again, he’s looking smooth, looking good, looking like dare I say, the old Conor McGregor,” Bisping added.

There has been concern that the Irishman isn’t taking the fight seriously and isn’t preparing properly, after he shared multiple videos online of him enjoying himself in his Dublin pub, just a few weeks out from his huge comeback fight.

“All the people out there showing concern for McGregor because he’s been partying and all the rest of it, and three years away, he’s only 35-years-old, he’s a lifelong fighter, and the man, you know, he loves a tear-up, he’s an aggressive little b******.

“The mind is still there and it looks like the body is still there and as you know, I’m not the type of guy to compliment McGregor unless he deserves it, listen, the man’s putting in the hard work, and if he comes back and beats Michael Chandler, what a sensation that’d be,” Bisping added.

Michael Chandler isn’t phased by McGregor’s preparation antics

‘Iron’ Michael Chandler is unphased by the Irishman’s pre-fight antics stating that that’s what McGregor is about, being well-known for his mental warfare.

“There’s a couple of different schools of thought, obviously would you ever put it past Conor McGregor, no, I think if you’ve seen Conor you would not put that past Conor,” Chandler explained recently on the Pivot Podcast.

The 38-year-old also believes McGregor could be pulling a similar trick that boxer, Ryan Garcia recently pulled on his opponent, Devin Haney.

“But, if you saw the way Ryan Garcia did what Ryan Garcia did, there are all kinds of different throwing people off the trail, all kinds of different publicity stunts if you will,” Chandler added.
