‘Maybe he just woke up from the knockout’… Alex Pereira issues cold response to Jamahal Hill’s recent celebration complaint

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has issued a cold response to Jamahal Hill after the former champion bizarrely brought up the Brazilian’s UFC 300 fight celebration in a recent rant.

Despite UFC 300 having taken place two months ago, former light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill took to social media recently to express his anger towards Alex Pereira for his post-fight celebration.

During the rant, ‘Sweet Dreams’ continued to blame Herb Dean’s brief stoppage of the fight for the reason he got knocked out, going on to claim that the Brazilian champion is ‘weak’ for celebrating the way he did.

Alex Pereira issues cold response following Hill’s bizarre rant

Hill is currently preparing for his UFC 303 co-main event against Carlos Ulberg, on June 29. The 33-year-old is hoping that he can secure himself a rematch against ‘Poatan’ with a big win over ‘Black Jag’.

In the post, Hill claimed that when he and Pereira fight again, he will leave the 36-year-old as ‘stiff’ as Israel Adesanya left him after their fight at UFC 287.

Confused by Hill bringing up his celebration from months ago, Pereira claimed that the 33-year-old must’ve only just woke up from the first-round knockout.

“To be honest, I don’t get why he’s doing this so late, it’s almost two months people usually do that right after the fight, but maybe he just woke up from the knockout,” Pereira told Main Event.

Pereira commented on Hill’s post, stating, “You reap what you sow, Chama”. In the lead-up to their fight, tensions rose at the pre-fight press conference, when Hill brought a Moai-shaped chain and destroyed it.

“You (reap what you sow), during Glover’s (Teixeira) fight he was respectful to Glover and he got respect at the end, with me he was a bit more disrespectful so he got what he (deserved),” Pereira added.

Jiri Prochazka confirms he has signed his next fight

Jiri Prochazka made it clear following his win over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300, that he wants a rematch against ‘Poatan’. At Oktagon 58 in the Czech Republic this past weekend, Prochazka claimed that he has signed the bout agreement for his next fight, and is waiting on the UFC to announce it.

Pereira recently revealed that he wants to return to action in around August time, with it rumored that Prochazka will be his next opponent after UFC CEO, Dana White, admitted at the UFC 302 post-fight press conference, that he likes the sound of a rematch between the two 205lbers.

UFC 305 takes place on August 18, from Perth, Australia, and it was previously rumored that the promotion is looking to book Dricus Du Plessis vs Israel Adesanya for the blockbuster event, however, that is yet to be announced.

‘Poatan’ admitted that after spending some time in Australia, he would love to defend his title against Prochazka at UFC 305, especially after seeing how much support he has in the region.

“That would be awesome (to headline UFC 305), especially now seeing all of the love from the people here, people are super nice with us, but it’s not up to me, it’s up to the organization, I’m not the one in control so wherever they want me to fight next I will fight,” Pereira stated.
