Conor McGregor may have put doubts surrounding his UFC 303 comeback to bed, after sharing a series of new training videos ahead of the June 29 date.
The saga concerning the UFC 303 main event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, has spiraled somewhat uncontrollably over this past week, leading fans to fear that the fight might not happen.
This past Monday, the UFC announced that their scheduled press conference which was set to take place in Dublin, Ireland, was postponed, and failed to give a reason why.
Rumors then began to circulate that McGregor had picked up an injury and that the main event was in serious jeopardy of falling through, with the UFC even beginning to search for replacements.

Conor McGregor shares new training videos putting doubts to bed
Despite the ongoing uncertainty regarding the status of ‘The Notorious’ McGregor’s comeback, this past Thursday, the Irishman boosted the hopes of the MMA world, by posting a series of training videos on his Instagram, showing that he is still preparing.
The 10-slide post includes what seems to be a mix of old training footage, and new training footage, and is simply captioned with a goat and praying emoji.
Earlier this week, the 35-year-old posted an image of himself grinning on what seemed to be a doctor’s table. On Wednesday, MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani, provided a positive update which led to fans once again growing in optimism.
Teammate and fellow fighter, Brendan Loughnane, commented: “The man is ready.”

McGregor’s former promotion, Cage Warriors, also commented on the post, saying: “So you’re telling us there’s a chance… the fight is still on.”
Islam Makhachev prefers possible fight against McGregor instead of Tsarukyan
Despite the UFC 303 main event scheduled to take place at 170lbs, current lightweight king, Islam Makhachev has his eyes focused on the bout.
The Russian defended his 155lb title for the third time this past weekend at UFC 302, equalling the lightweight record for the most amount of title defenses after beating Dustin Poirier.
McGregor’s last fight came against ‘The Diamond’ in 2021, unfortunately breaking his leg at the end of round one of their trilogy.
Of course, there is a longstanding feud between Makhachev’s team and the former two-weight world champion, McGregor, and the 32-year-old champion would like the chance to once again settle the score.
Makhachev’s next title defense will seemingly come against number-one contender, Arman Tsarukyan, however, the Russian would prefer to defend his belt against McGregor next.
“To be honest the McGregor fight looks more interesting (than Tsarukyan fight), in terms of media and in all respects but I don’t think he’ll even show up to his next fight. We’ve all seen that video plus they canceled the press conference, I don’t think he’ll be able to make it to the fight,” Makhachev told Ushatayka.
Despite that, Makhachev is picking ‘Iron’ Mike to beat the Irishman, if the fight does take place.
“I think Chandler will win. He’s more focused, he’s been training hard, he looks more hungry.” Makhachev claimed.
